For tomato based sauces maybe.  For cream base sauces like Alfredo the quality is more like frozen.  Jarred stuff replaces a lot of the dairy with oils.  Never buy jarred Alfredo - it's too easy to make from scratch.

Peeling is just what you call removing the skin. Names for processes aren’t always directly descriptive

Smashing the cloves with the side of the knife first helps greatly. They get sticky right away and don't move around on the cutting board at all.

Maybe at Chipotle. But a lot of restaurants (especially the chains) use ready made industrial guacamole loaded with preservatives and doesn’t taste nearly as good. If it works for Chipotle today it could be in more places tomorrow. Or maybe in the grocery store next to the coffee grinder, bread slicer, or peanut

Or that she was brought in as a Jane Doe and her manager finally found her there.

So I wasn't the only one who read the headline 5 times and then started on the article before figuring out what it meant.

Ah, Jurassic Park.

It would be a negative for me.  I like variety so I usually get insanely tiny portions of things so I don't have to waste food or eat more of what I don't like.  Explaining exactly how large of a portion for each thing would be a nightmare.

Hydrogenated oils are out these days because of the limits on trans fat.  A lot of that has been replaced with fully hydrogenated oils and/or palm oil.

I never grew up around Dunkin but their donuts are trash. It’s like they just wanted you to chew on something that would make you thirsty for their way oversweetened iced coffee. I have a total of one good donut shop in the area, and surprisingly inexpensive. So I have no reason to think of Dunkin.

What it looks like is that they wanted to do a very nice avocado toast but they were embarrassed so they did something even more embarrassing.  Toast the bread, double the avocado, get rid of the other slice of bread and I would eat that.  I wouldn’t pay $5.79 though.

You can give a fictitious name for a product. Microsoft Windows contains no actual Windows. The box says what it is. Just like this says “mozzarella flavored with other natural and artificial flavors” - it’s a horrible practice, and not exactly ethical.  But I think legally defensible.

Mostly keep the Redd Baron in check.

If you don’t mind soda a little flat, this is the best way to drink Dr. Pepper on a chilly fall day.

There’s a decent Chromecast as part of the hardware.  It's a shame that the controller is only useful wired.

But those aren’t quite identical. Hardee’s locations often have a “Red Burrito” branded menu, while Carl’s Jr. has a “Green Burrito” branded menu. It’s not just a name difference - one specializes in red sauces and the other features green sauces.

I don’t know where the dividing line is, but I live near the Mississippi and it’s Rally’s on both sides.

Orange chicken is already wet enough. You would need white rice for this.

I had mentioned a medical provider coming out with something but when I looked into it, it seems that even if the entity would normally fall under HIPAA there are weird rules determining what’s covered. If the app itself doesn’t electronically transmit health data in conjunction with a typical “health service” that

Either a medical provider that’s already under HIPAA needs to release a free app or we need a federal law to extend HIPAA to these apps.

FYI, for anyone looking, it seems that Planned Parenthood has their own period tracker app. It’s under a non-profit so there shouldn’t be any reason to sell this data. But even they
