I don't know if there is the same emotional connection to Mel Gibsons "Mad Max" as there is with Sylvester Stallones "Rocky Balboa". Rocky overcame obstacles and that was the focus of the films, as opposed to the giant landscapes and exploration of the people and societies that are in them, as with Mad Max.
