I was shocked, as a former Catholic, to find out that Catholics are pro-choice by a small majority. I thought for years that Republicans were anti-choice to court Catholic voters, as the Republican Party is counter to Catholic values in every other area. It turns out that only evangelicals are majority anti-choice.

The real genius is they somehow made circular tires look blocky. I thought they were heptagons at first.

Damn, I just realized how similar the hyperloop is to the monorail from The Simpsons. They tried to warn us, and we didn’t listen (again).

Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov.

I recently inherited my grandfather’s 2000 Tacoma. It has no rust and 133k miles. (The shop said it was the cleanest they’ve seen in 15 years.) It feels like it could go to 500k with regular maintenance. The only thing keeping it from being perfect is the automatic transmission.

Isn’t the basis of Musk’s wealth based on Tesla stock? It seems there should be a new “World’s Richest Man” soon.

I stuck with Maher for a while because he had interesting guests. Once you got past the opening interview, the panel discussion was engaging. Watching Dennis Prager get trounced was especially fun. However, eventually Maher became too unbearable to make the rest worth the time.

No worries. I’ve already made bigger mistakes with more important things today.

The more impressive feat is that Barbie is 31st after adjusting for inflation. It will be interesting to see if it can top Rouge One to reach 27th. I’m pretty sure confident it won’t beat Shrek 2 to get any higher.

It looks like the gap between TG:M and Barbie is slowly closing. I don’t think Barbie has the legs to catch Maverick. (graph from the-numbers.com)

There’s probably a high overlap with the people who, only two weeks ago, claimed the success of Sound of Freedom meant people were over “woke Hollywood”.

The holds were pleasant surprises. I expected both movies to drop around 60%. I figured the Barbenheimer fad would quickly wear off.

According to the-numbers.com, Sound of Fury opened in 2634 theaters and then expanded to 2952 and 3265 theaters in the first and second full weeks. I don’t think that affects your conclusion, as the advertising budget is often close to the production budget.

The Angel Studios website claims they accumulated 10 million tickets through pay-it-forward. I checked it today.

I was a fan of the 80's series. It ended on a cliffhanger with a character falling off a bridge. Over thirty years later, it still bothers me that it was never resolved.

“Hammer to Fall” and “I Want it All” are two of my favorites on the list. Both are traditional rock songs. “Headlong” and “Invisible Man” are two other rockers.

I think you’re right about a slower drop-off for Dial of Destiny. Based on the audience at my showing on Sunday, the movie will appeal to an older audience than a superhero movie. Those movies tend to stick around longer.

BTW: I’m watching Elemental vs. The Flash over the next month. There’s a chance that Elemental

I’m confused why an “anti-Barbie movie” should be a thing. Are people so worried about the existence of The Barbie Movie that they feel the need to watch a different movie in protest?

Awful commentary as usual, Matt.

My understanding of CinemaScore is that it is sensitive to audience expectations. Ruby Gillman apparently delivers exactly what it promises even if that’s not what an AV Club reviewer considers a good movie.
