It doesn't disable them anymore, they removed that clause from the EULA after they were threatened with a law suit. It just scans and snoops and sends back your information to EA, for them to hold onto because they're super trust worthy and no one will ever be able to get it.

The fact of the matter is if you enjoy video games, EA is the enemy. Everything they do is an attack on fun.


Steam never scanned my entire PC to see if product keys for games not installed by Steam matched up with Valve's servers. Origin 100% does scan your entire PC and cross reference applications you have installed without it with EA's servers.

Secret of Mana is a video game about amnesiac sprites and giant chickens and superpowered swords. You can play it on the Wii's Virtual Console, too.

Nintendo makes consoles for Nintendo's games, anybody who can shoehorn their game on there with them has a chance to make some money.
