One of the worse things I see in this report is the ignoring of the construction workers. I’m a good enough engineer to know I don’t know everything. A guy with a high school education that has actually done stuff with his hands and not just on a computer knows a lot more about how things actually work than I do. Some

This.

I didn’t agree with a lot of the posts on Splinter and I often disagreed with a lot of the comments. But the one thing I always appreciated was that when something absolutely ludicrous happened and not nearly enough people were going around saying, “What the flying fuck was that?” I could always find people on

How Splinter and Deadspin were handled was atrocious, the having Splinter go dead and having no announcement whatsoever was shitty on the part of Spamfiller and Madman. They should have dropped in a post like this when they pulled the plug.

I loved Splinter / Deadspin because...

Shutting down the only dedicated politics website in your portfolio right before the 2020 election, one of the most consequential of our lifetime, kicks into high gear. Essentially shutting down the second-most highly trafficked website in your portfolio because one out of every twenty five posts rankles you. I’m not

Splinter was a damn good website.

All this is going to do is make them close the sports division entirely.

When I don’t use my blinkers in a BMW, I’m an asshole, but not using them in my Tesla is just a sensible range extension strategy.

I have an idea for how to fix Nissan: Autoplay ads on the infotainment screen.

At COTA there are 3 big ass generators to power all the paddock garages w/ EU spec power. The paddock has 2 sets of switchgear in the electrical rooms, one set for US spec power from the utility, and a second set for Eurostyle. Each garage has a 2 breaker panels. Out in the paddock itself there is a large electrical

Cools write up; I had no idea the sheer size of their operation. Tires are often complained about, but they’re the unsung heroes of modern racing. There has been more time shaved off of laps, from advancements in tire technology, than any other single technological achievement. By simply mounting a modern set of tires

As a self-proclaimed tire-nerd and huge F1 fan, this was a great read! Thanks for all the info.

The most disturbing take away from this article is that Jr was heckled by people who don’t think the Trumps are bad enough. WTF

Basically, we’re talking about a pretty damn sustainable form of energy coming from F1's tires.

That paragraph/section where you touched on the fact that teams are selecting tires up to 14 weeks before the race is just absurd. I have no suggestions how to solve that but it just seems ridiculous to loose a race because the air temp is at a record low and you selected the wrong tires 14 fucking weeks ago.

I’ve been wondering about the environmental impact of all those tires and this arcticle answered most of those questions.

Those mechanics must be really worn out and tired by the end of a race weekend. I’d be completely deflated on Monday morning.

I’ll bite.. as a heavy travaller, while I can’t (and won’t speak for EVERYONE on the plane, I can give some reasonable answers to this):
