The fact that he’s still mad about a divisional game from 1996 when they won the Super Bowl in ‘97 and ‘98 is darker than anything else he wrote.

I kept reading that waiting for the funny part, and then just died a little inside.

Seriously.  I do hope he’s doing better.

That went to a dark, dark place. I had one year in college where I didn’t leave my dorm room for weeks and seriously considered offing myself, and that was still not as dark as that story.

I’m a Lions fan living in NW PA. I took my family (including my 12 year old daughter) to the Lions/Bills game last year. Within 150ft of where we parked the car, she saw 2 keg stands and a drunken woman writhing in the mud. My wife gave me a furious look and all I could do was shrug my shoulders and mumble “Bills

I met a guy in Portland who had his 4 year old in a Lions jersey. I asked him why he would subject his kid to the disappointment and pain we had know and he said “it builds character.”

The EIC defended her on Twitter.  It wasn’t just Kelsey that fucked it up.

Just to add to that- it would be one thing if it was an oversight (even a big one) on a regular piece, but the tone of Kelsey’s post was just so god damn smug. When you choose that tone you can’t swing and miss that badly.

LOL maybe you guys should just sit the rest of this saga out. People don’t forget!

I love this site, but that was one of the worst, most shameful blogs they’ve ever done

That was such a bad faith article. And now it looks even worse.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I would say they didn’t just suggest that, they derisively mocked them with that insinuation. Any correction to that, yet?

My first thought upon reading this article too... When will the retraction be issued?

Hey, remember that time Deadspin said the men’s team doesn’t support the women’s team?

Corderio:

Here’s how every member of the deadspin staff named Kelsey McKinney has to say about this article*

Let’s see what dearest Kelsey McKinney has to say about this.

I have reached out to every member of the US Men’s soccer team, former President Obama, and deceased football legend Johan Cruyff for comment. So far I have received no response. I think that says it all.

After the O’s used nine actual, professional pitchers”
