Yes; the zapping! It’s like when you start to nod off when you’re on the subway, and jerk awake.

The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room.

Consider also, that if this is a “capstone” position, as you say, that you will eventually retire; perhaps you are closer to the end of your career than the beginning (if you’re referencing the ‘70's and 80's, I suspect so :D), and then can consider moving to wherever you want.,

Good for Kidlet! I know “teh youts” have a bad reputation for laziness amongst some older people, but any that I know; kids of co-workers, etc., work their asses off with 2 and 3 jobs. 

Congratulations! I used to “run” (fast shuffle, really), but I never got past a certain point; maybe 5k, and then would get injured, and would lose most of what I had gained. My chiropractor and massage therapist say that my feet and ankles are just not built for running.
