You ever try making a White Russian with non-dairy creamer? Yeah me neither, but I can only imagine its horrible.

My buddy and I once hit 87 mph indicated down hill at WOT in my carbureted 1986 Toyota 4x4 pickup in 4th gear. In 5th, we started slowing down. It was terrifying.

Anecdotally, on my local FB marketplace, there are a handful of running & driving CJ5/CJ7 for under $5k with everything from an AMC straight 6 through a 350 V8.

I think what he means is price-wise. A ratted out non-runner FJ40 is $5k in most places. I can find a dozen driver-condition, running CJ5's and CJ7's for under $5k (a piece).

That’s OK, the geolocation service Twitch uses to fence off it’s broadcasts thinks I’m in China (we have a new zip code which returns a null value in their database & this defaults to the geographic center of mainland China). Lately this has kind of sucked because of the current political climate. It also blocks me

This is true. I even offered (not sure if he saw it) to trailer a rust free roller Grand Wagoneer to Michigan FOR FREE (he had to buy it, but I’d move it) just to keep him from driving that deathtrap Grand Wagoneer he bought a few years back (and again when he got that free Grand Wagoneer back in June of this year).

I’ve mentioned this to David with every rust heap he buys. There are hundreds of ZJ’s that’ll take the body harness, engine harness, pedal box, and driveline from the rust bucket. All of these are selling for basically scrap value, just sitting around here in the south, rust free.

Even better than what? A sharp stick in the eye? Herpes?

Depending on time of day, my old commute was either 20 minutes or 2.5 hours. Worked in Santa Monica, lived in Echo Park. If I hit the road before 5:30am, I was about 10 min early for a 6am start time when I arrived in SM.

Thats almost exactly how it still works in the Army.

FINALLY I can use the M104 (Heavy Assault Bridge) endorsement on my military driver’s license for something on the civilian side!

This was from ~2016 in the US. They had a limited run of it here as well back in the day.

The 96-98 4Runners have 2 cup holders that eject from the dash under the clock. They’re flimsy, and don’t secure much of anything. The 99-02 have 2 cup holders on the trans tunnel that are much better, but for those of us with 96-98 4Runners, there’s a dude who 3d prints these:

Looks are one thing. I’m w/you, I’d like to see this thing take on Cape York (Gunshot, Tele Track, Frenchman’s...), or the Rubicon, or perhaps a Camel Trophy revival.. before I decide how much I hate it.

I think you’ve nailed it. Similarly, I recall a MacGyver episode where they drove some form of Jeep CJ/M38 variant on the tracks using tireless steelies. That may be an option, but transitions from rail to railbed/pavement might be a bit time consuming.

I’m currently daily driving my ‘bug out’ vehicle. Picture related.

I have 2 kids who like to bathe in mud/grass/syrup, am lazy as hell, and haven’t cleaned the interior of any of my cars for easily 3 yrs, and my heaps are STILL cleaner than this thing on the inside.

I ... I was talking about the US gov’t doing this on their behalf.

In the US ‘back in my day’ we drilled for stuff like this (albeit, on the west coast). Google “JLOTS”. The capability exists. I’d like to see it used where it’s truly needed.
That said... since it wasn’t used for Puerto Rico, I doubt it’ll be implemented here.

CX-5 2.0 FWD 6 m/t was decent fun but very underpowered. Would love to see 2.5, turbo, awd, 6 m/t on that chassis.
