We have Toyota’s “brake assist” in our 2016 4Runner. Brake assist senses how quickly you hit the pedal, and infers from that to go full-on emergency stop, regardless of how far you push the pedal.

Only reason I CP’d this is because I want their values to come into my price range, and I’m bitter that they don’t depreciate faster. Also, it doesn’t have steelies & a 6 spd manual.
Coincidentally, this is how all of the WD21 Pathfinder owners I know still dress.
This happens to be one of those rare times where you & I share the same opinion.
Every day on my way home I pass places advertising finance packages for wheels/tires/lift kits. All at the low low interest rate of 35% and late payment penalty of your kneecaps.
As dreadful as this might sound, when I lived in the city, the cheapest airport parking option was to leave my car at home & take the bus or a ride share.
I’ve seen something similar locally on Jeep Gladiators. But at least with the gladiator markups, you get “something” for all of that extra price.
These were so bad that my neighbors traded theirs for a used Doug Demuro vintage Range Rover and were impressed with the Brit’s reliability.
I concur ref: disliking the look of the new accord. But probably not for the same reason as you. I don’t speed, but every time I see a new accord coming up fast in my rear view, I slow down a bit. Because the front ends on the white/black/grey/red/blue accords look like Chargers. And Chargers are the mount of choice…
My point isn’t that these cars aren’t roadworthy when they’re pulled from the road in New England. My argument is that the inspection standards are too stringent in the northeast. I’ve been driving a car for 9 years and 60,000 miles outside of New England that, when it was there, wouldn’t pass state inspection. It’s…
Does WI have a state inspection that will throw your car off the road if it has rust through a body panel, a cracked windshield, or rusty fuel tank straps?
“Due to less stop/start driving” I think it has less to do w/that and more to do w/road salt & atrocious pavement quality.
Ah I didn’t scroll down before I made my comment. Yes. And bonus, these are diesels w/manual transmissions, and adequately robust. I say that because you pound around in anything on Afghan “roads” for long enough and anything rubber in the suspension is a goner. But other than shocks and front suspension bushings,…
I know the audience is limited, but the Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army have been using up-spec’d (non-US-market) Rangers and Everests for over a decade. Google them sometime. Pretty bad ass.
Man this is tough because if you took an average across the entire model line, it’d be Mustang hands down. But top spec to top spec, recent cars, I’d pick a ZL1 Camaro over a GT500 Mustang.
I acknowledged the airbag recalls. And they’re bad. I had mine fixed the day after the recall was announced. RAM also has a few airbag recalls:
