“This is without a doubt, the worst car I have ever owned or will ever own in my lifetime.” -My Dad, 2 months after buying a TR-7 brand new off the lot.
Sometimes, and bear with me here, shade is provided by these things called “trees”. Within trees there live a host of “things” that endeavor to wreck the finish on whatever is unlucky enough to park beneath them.
As a society that somewhat glorifies treating rental cars like the fastest cars in the world, is anyone really surprised?
I was going to reply “challenge accepted” but I like your response better.
And it varies greatly too between 4Runners. I used to brag about how my (stock 4x4 V6 auto) 3rd gen averaged 23 MPG round trip from LA to Fresno, or Vegas or Big Bear. I sold that one and the next one I bought a few years later I still drive daily & I’m lucky if I get 200 miles on a tank of gas, worse in the winter.
TIL that a 707 hp Hellcat gets the same city MPG as my 183 hp 4Runner does on the highway.

first thing I did was ctrl+f and type “saab”. No results found. But they have one of these?
Thanks! Man that must be a tank w/the snows on it. Our 5th gen doesn’t feel all that light on it’s feet compared to the 3rd gen but surprisingly even with garbage road-oriented tires on it, it’ll hold its own on the trails locally.
Toyota could slap a 4Runner badge on almost anything with wheels and people would buy it... I say this as the owner of 3 4Runners at the moment.
...and we let strangers from the aforementioned bookseller into our homes and automobiles to deliver packages.
Don’t forget that a bookseller is #2 in the space race.
I did when the V90 started shipping. Both dealer & corporate customer care said “no”. I’ll try again.
Holy crap, this has been bothering me since that generation Rogue came out. There are dozens of us. DOZENS! Wife & I theorized that it had something to do w/AWD vs FWD versions, as the FWD versions didn’t appear to have one (that is an entirely non-scientific observation, more of a correlation than anything else).
OK so I live in the “great Volvo Desert” of middle America. The nearest Volvo dealership is 120 miles from here, and the next closest is 210 miles away.
I can assure you that, despite Star Trek in general and TNG in particular being my favorite Sci Fi franchise of all time, there is no precedent for this practice the real-world US military, which includes the US Navy.
