I understand & am aware of their heritage and the fact that probably less than 50% of Americans know this. That is why I acknowledged I’m being pedantic / nit picking.

I mean, it “can” be whatever the person wants it to be, but it is technically incorrect [according to AR 670-1] if the field of stars isn’t forward as though it is being ‘carried into battle’. Specifically: “...the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward.”
I don’t know about that - there are still half-decent TJ/LJ’s in my area fetching $10k-15k via private sale... dealers are listing low mileage (<100k mi) TJs for close to $20k. For a 20 year old car, thats still in the stratosphere, and I have a feeling the JK will follow the same trend.
I no longer live in Los Angeles (LA proper, not “I live in the valley but since nobody’s ever heard of it, I just say I live in LA”) but when I did, I loved my m/t cars. Hop onto the 10, stick it in 1st or 2nd gear, and basically idle my way from the west side to echo park where I lived. In my automatic cars, I had to…
Not if you go for the ‘sport’ trim. You get a good old fashioned button-fest. It actually installs where that screen sits so it’s rather comical. The 2016's and up have this configuration (screen on top of the dash or radio on top of the dash in the poverty-spec).
That vehicle is unattractive from any angle where that ridiculous underbite of a front fascia is visible. Looks like the automotive equivalent of the Habsburg Lip.
Hey so that CA plate is modern & starts with a 7 - if they were the original owners, do they have the original plate? And if it got a 7- plate that means it passed smog, too, upon transfer? Thats a great deal, if so.
THIS. I say that as someone who is currently searching for a car that was only made for one year in a manual transmission. 99% of my hits are automatics.
As a fellow crapcan enthusiast, there’s plenty of value in having a ‘lifeboat’ car that, to steal an old Apple slogan, ‘just works.’ Without something that can reliably get me to/from that place that pays me money to browse Jalopnik, I wouldn’t have any funds left over to feed my fleet of lawn ornament shit heaps that…
I like the cut of your jib.
According to my neighbors in Arkansas, the craziest thing I’ve ever done in my car in the winter is driven in 1.3" of snow.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened:
I think he was genuinely inexperienced, and didn’t understand fasteners very well.
Nope. I’ve learned more about extracting, reaming, tapping and chasing than I ever wanted or needed to know. He cross threaded the transmission drain plug, most of the transmission pan bolts, oil drain plug, rear diff fill and drain plugs, t-case drain (not fill), front diff fill (not drain), rear lower shock bolts,…
