The movie absolutely does not treat D-Fens anything like a sane person. Just look at the way he speaks to his wife on the phone. He’s a loose cannon, getting looser all throughout the movie as his own grip on his sanity slips more and more.

I’m more interested in what what was wrong with him. This wasn’t road rage, that guy was in an entirely different world. He was either under the influence of certain drugs or had some kind of serious medical issue (or both). Strange that the ABC article doesn’t mention anything about that.
