The new cars will hopefully help a lot, because at present they are just too damn slow. Like F4 slow. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some F4, but you’re never going to be considered a tier 1 motorsport at those speeds.

Just to be that guy, it’s not the most expensive in inflation adjusted dollars - one example as per Motorweek, the R129 300SL cost $72,500 in 1990, which comes out to over $160k today (for something that was barely quicker than a contemporary Miata that cost a quarter as much).

Man, people are not good at determining what gas price increases actually cost them.

I own a 2000 Jaguar XK8, at $4k this seems fair, but I’d note the following:

Ah, Lewis.  A wasted opportunity.  You could have stayed off and set such a good example for the rest of us.

It’ll have to be a trilogy, though.

The Ramans do everything in threes.”

Oooh man, this should be great. I wonder if he can be convinced to do Ringworld after...

I think salespeople are extremely useful. But I think what we have at car dealers aren’t sales people. Or maybe they are, but then that’s not what’s needed. Salespeople now are just supply movers. And they’re incentivized simply to move as much product as possible, in the worst way possible, because if they don’t they

This sort of track is what makes it hard to keep my wife involved in F1.

Stolen from an Instagram comment I saw earlier:

“It’s rights out and away we go!”

Genesis over here trying to emulate BMW and call shit whatever they want to try and wedge in that “sporty” descriptor that marketing foisted upon them and avoid the dreaded “station wagon” name that people stopped disliking twenty years ago now.

Shooting brake - Two doors, long roof
Station wagon - Four doors (or more),

No Blues Brothers?

Lando putting in the fastest lap of the race on the final lap needed to close what seemed to be a second gap and actually doing just that was fantastic. I haven't been that excited at the end of a race in a long time.
