I have an awesome mousekiller cat who gets most of out mice, but sometimes stronger measures are necessary. get some steel wool and put it into any holes you see in the outside walls, and also any interior gaps (e.g. around plumbing lines, electrical cords, etc. if there are spots near walls where the cats can’t

The one from the person living in Upstate NY working at a non-profit was the only one that I could relate to. I think she lives in the same town as me and the mix of shopping expenses seemed realistic.

I enjoyed the books.  As someone who has spent a lot of time working at universities, the academic angle was enjoyable for me, even though it resulted in a slower pace in the first book.

I think much of it is related to where you live. I grew up in the San Francisco area and definitely had culture shock when I lived in less diverse places. Most of my parents’ friends were first or second generation immigrants.

I’m white as fuck too, and am second or third generation, depending on how you count it, and I am continually amazed by the subtle cultural differences between myself and people whose ancestors have been here longer.

Formerly thick browed person here - I never tinted them during the thick browed paradise that was the 80's and the nightmare plucked brow 90/00's. They’ve thinned out a lot due to age/thyroid issues but are still above average. Nowadays I fill them in a bit on the days I wear makeup (aka a few times a month) just

Me too! I’m cheap, old, lazy and get a rash from many scented face and hair products.

Upstate NY produces quite a bit of it too

Thanks - that is really good to know!

Thanks! I’m 49 now and apart from the period insomnia/anxiety and bloat, my symptoms aren’t too bad. The anxiety isn’t major - it mostly pops up when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep but I’m fine during the day. I haven’t had any hot flashes but don’t get cold as easily as before. My mom got her last period at 50-ish

Thanks - I’ll keep that in mind if the progesterone doesn’t work. My main symptom is insomnia during late pms/ period. The anxiety is fairly minor so far and usually happens when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep.

Anyone try progesterone for perimenopause symptoms? How do you like it? My Dr prescribed it for my period-related insomnia and anxiety. It seems to be helping somewhat but is making me want to eat all the food.

I first heard the term goth sometime around 1992. Before that it was just a subset of alternative/punk/new wave.

I’m a huge Kate Bush fan, but I love Faith and the Muse’s cover version as much as the original.

Does anyone else have allergies manifest in their skin instead of sinuses? I get eczema on my hands and feet every summer. I just got a flareup and my rosacea went crazy too. Zyrtec helps a bit but I could use some suggestions.

I’m travelling so I did some happy hour drinking at a nice restaurant. I had an elderflower greyhound (elderflower vodka and liqueur with grapefruit and orange juice) and a delightful raspberry margarita. Alas, I’m also on work deadlines so I came back to the hotel and am writing a proposal and listening to some 90's

I’m really busy so I haven’t been commenting much during the week. Being a permagrey despite 10 years of commenting doesn’t really help either.

Yes. I’m a research professor and have a really good gig, but every so often the snobbism towards people who aren’t tenure track makes me crazy. The weird part is that it doesn’t come from other scientists my age, but students and non-scientists.

I’m going through this to, both perimenopause and Trump derangement syndrome.. I have a Dr appointment in a few weeks about it. I’ve been dealing with the insomnia (which seems to be worst during pms/period times) by decreasing/eliminating caffeine during my period and extra strength Estroven helps too.

I baked a loaf of rye sourdough bread today and made green curry with chicken. Tomorrow I’l make a gallon of tomato soup and maybe make tapioca pudding.
