I need to try that, and my mom sent me some seaweed recently. I could use a bit of extra help right now. Blood work was in agreement but my Dr wants me to wait and get another test in months.

I used to get ads directed to moms, even though I don’t have kids. Sometimes I get random ones for things like methane digesters.

I got the 10% azaleic acid lotion from The Ordinary. It’s supposed to be good for rosacea (I have a very mild case). It’s $7 if you order from them directly. I just got it yestrday so I can’t really tell if it helps with the rosacea, but it gave my skin a lovely matte feel and didn’t irritate anything.

Same. I’m 49 and have two years left on my IUD, and an unknown number of years until menopause. Before the election, I thought about getting it taken out, since I’m practically an old lady and it gives me heavy periods. But now it’s staying in as an insurance policy, and if I need to swap it out for a new one before

Third generation lapsed Catholic American here, married to another, and it seems to be somewhat geographical. I’m from CA and husband is from NY. We’re super liberal. My cousins in the midwest and Arizona are pretty conservative.

I was raised Catholic in CA (Bay Area) in the 70's/80's, and at the time there was a lot more attention given to social justice than abortion. It may be somewhat geographically driven - my cousins in Michigan are very conservative, and my Italian-American in-laws in upstate NY are very liberal.

How do the mineral ones work for you? I’m allergic to most sunscreens but do ok with mineral ones (titanium dioxide, zinc oxide) that are also unscented.

I find it’s helpful to remind myself that crushes are fun and completely normal and that nothing will ever come of it.

Me too. I understand why they’re doing it but I’m annoyed.

This. Former grad student here, now I work with grad students. Science and engineering grad students are in lab a lot too, so if you like some alone time I recommend it. Also, many of them don’t have time for pets but love to be around other people’s pets.

Even if you had access to the numbers, they’d still make up some bullshit. My former employer made a big deal about how they used a similar index to set salaries and aimed for the 75% percentile. They decided to make the range available to us via the intranet - if you were logged in you could see what the range

I have combination skin and was prone to breakouts. My skin improved at age 35 when I discovered a cleanser that cleaned it without irritation (Paula’s Choice skin balancing cleanser) and started using the Paula’s Choice 2% beta hydroxy acid gel. I’m 49 now and still use them. The latter really helped with the acne by

I got my Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyface exfoliator in the mail last week (ordered it on Black Friday). I was surprised how gentle it was considering it’s 25% alpha hydroxy acids. I’ve used it once and like it so far. I also found some Charles Worthington curl enhance cream at the dollar store today. I’m looking

I’m 49 and mine is pretty similar to yours. I’ve just started wearing moisturizer + eye cream more regularly. It’s funny because I do love to buy skin care products + soaps, but my damn eczema/rosacea/acne/fragrance allergy limits things, and my laziness in the morning also doesn’t help.

The wash cloth to cleaning rag progression is the same in my house. Maybe I’m just a slob but there’s a long middle phase where I don’t really case as long as they’re washed in between.

Me too. I also need the perfect oceanside houses to actually be in Monterey or Carmel rather than somewhere in Southern CA.

I’ve scaled back, so I just do biscotti and Mexican wedding cookies nowadays. Back when I was giving out cookie gifts, I also used to make pfeffernusse, gingerbread cookies, some sort of chocolate chip cookie or blondie, shortbread, and a crisp rolled out spice cookie. Some years I’d also do a fruitcake and a stollen

We’re also seeing things with a 2017 fashion sense. Back in 1994, big hair and a late 80's fashion influence were still very much a thing. I was in my early 20's then and sometimes rocked the big hair but switched to a more Nancy-esque style when I needed to get dressed up. Tonya’s aesthetic did not seem that unusual

A million congratulations!

My colleagues and I are getting an award for a paper we published, and there’s money involved. I’m not sure how it will get divided up but it might be a few thousand for me, and bragging rights.
