That sounds delightful! I used to live in the Bay Area but never made it to Manresa.

That is lovely! I got married last year and spent many hours looking at Brilliant Earth’s website.
I’m on the mend from the hell flu that I came down with last week. My husband is out of town tonight so I did a leisurely TJ Maxx/grocery store run and then cooked a lot of healthy food for the coming week. It’s introvert heaven.
Get thee to a Costco. Their towels are great, last forever, and are only $7 or $8.
I did PT for a weird wrist problem I was having. It helped a lot. See if you can find someone who specializes in hands.
I did boring old fashioned calorie tracking (1500/day, tracked via LoseIt). I’ve lost 30 lbs since January, although it’s slowed down a lot recently since I’m near my setpoint weight and have been slacking off a bit. If I just exercise more I build muscle like crazy but get very hungry.
This morning I dreamt I was up in the Sierras with my BFF and we were sitting right by the edge of a waterfall, dangling our legs over the edge. Then my cat jumped on me and woke me up and scare the shit out of me. I’m still laughing about the timing.
I had a coworker who got the same advice from her doctor. She was still petite but was really strong and healthy looking.
I’m a 38D and have had great luck at the outlet too. Lots of bras in my size, minimizers, bras with no padding, etc. I like the Bali minimizers the best.
Don’t like the dress code for men? Then try do something about it. Don’t just complain about women objecting to theirs.
When I was 13 my BFF’s mom got an ad for a Playgirl subscription in the mail. It was one of those ones where they billed you later. Her mom worked so we got the mail before mom came home. We filled it out (addressed to ‘RESIDENT’) and the Playgirls started showing up. We got a few free issues before her mom found out…
I’m a C/D cup and the Fiona sports bras are my go to for running. They’re pricy but fairly indestructible.
Fuck the boomers. I’m Gen X and they said similar stuff about us.
No beauty product purchases this week, but I did wander into my local Plato’s Closet for the first time tonight and bought a cute black dress for $12. I’m size 14 (and am OLD!) and I’d heard they didn’t carry large sizes, but I was pleasantly surprised.
Sometimes Facebook’s annoying algorythms are actually a good thing. I started commenting/posting in a very active and geeky cooking group page, and so now that group, feminist stuff and pictures of cats are 90% of what I see in Facebook.
We got married at the courthouse and had a big BBQ at our house two days later. I got my dress from the Talbots clearance rack for $40. Hubby went sort of groomzilla about having enough food, condiments, booze and party favors for the BBQ, but other than that it was low stress.
We sort of did that - we knew we were going to get married at the courthouse sometime in the summer but we couldn’t decide where to have our post-wedding BBQ. Once we decided to have it in our yard, we picked a weekend and planned backward from there. People were invited to the BBQ about 3 weeks in advance, and the…
I pulled some older jeans (7-10 years?) out of my closet and it was kind of shocking to see how much thinner and more stretchy the new ones are. These weren’t even 80's or 90's jeans either.
Ugh - I’ve got linebacker shoulders and a long torso. I lost 30 lbs recently. I tried on a few billowy tops today and they made me look heavier than I did 30 lbs ago.
Ugh. I stopped into LOFT this afternoon and those cute billowy tops made me look like a linebacker rocking a floral print bedsheet.
