If it’s any consolation, I’m 5'7" and the stuff that should look billowy makes me look like a linebacker since I have big shoulders. The fabric is very light and really doesn’t drape normally.

Fellow long torso person here! The boxy top/low waisted years were not kind to me. I’ll gladly make fun of cold shoulder tops as long as I don’t have to flash my midsection at anyone for a while.

I got an unscented one at TJ Maxx for $4 and can’t beleive how well it works.

I’m a chemist and have done slime making activities in my friend’s 3rd grade classroom for the last few years. At least at that level, making the slime and consuming the slime as entertainment are one and the same. The kids are playing with it and observing it when they make it, and continue to do so once they’re done

My nephew used to be obsessed with videos like that (legos, skylanders, etc). It made me want to tear my eyeballs out.

I tried the Paula’s Choice 4% beta-hydroxy acid treatment at a friend’s and loved it. Bought some and used it last night and now I have a rash on my neck. WTF?!?!?

There may be regional differences as well. I grew up in CA in the 70's/80's and never encountered any dress codes.

Also, their bodies are changing fast and things that fit one month may not fit so well the next. Shit - I’m 48 and still have bra straps popping out all the time because I’ve got sloped shoulders.

Yay Bay Area! There were no dress codes when I went to high school there in the 80s.

It’s a throwback to the 50's. My mom got all sorts of shit from the nuns at her high school for wearing things like loose cardigans over her dress-they had a ‘no sweater’ rule which prohibited all sweaters on girls because some sweaters might be tight. The solution was for her to take off the sweater... It’s no

I was born in the late 60's, so I was in jr high/high school during the first half of the 80's. I wore super tight jeans, shortie running shorts that barely contained my butt cheeks, tank tops and no bra. I did not do this in a vaccum - this is what people wore back then. (well, the no bra thing was me - I didn’t need

It’s on my list! I’d like to do the back of my neck too since I have a crazy hairline ;-(

I understand the difference between Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, North Country, etc (and catch-all descriptors like CNY), but where exactly is upstate? I was under the impression that a lot of people who don’t live in the rest of the country use ‘upstate’ to refer to anything that isn’t NYC? I’ve been in the Finger

I’m jealous - where I live you’re not supposed to even think about putting tomato plants outside. my nursery refused to sell me some a few weeks ago. I’m planting mine tomorrow.

3 out of the last 4 weekends have been cold and rainy. Last weekend we got a break and I was able to mulch everything and get my raised bed weeded/prepared. This weekend it’s cold and rainy again. I’ll plant some tomatoes, brussels sprouts and herbs tomorrow.

I bought two inexpensive pairs of tweezers from Amazon. This way I can have one at work and a spare for when I can’t find my other pair. At 48 I have a lot of pesky chin hairs.

This doesn’t even involve anyone I know, but it made a lot of people smile. I work at a university. Some of the grad students I work with were getting their PhD’s so I went to the hooding ceremony today (it’s a smaller ceremony which is in addition to the main graduation) There were appx 300 graduates and maybe

No cosmetics purchases this week, but I did order some unscented Shikai shampoo and conditioner and they’re really nice. My scalp/skin gets itchy from most fragranced products so I have to go unscented for shampoo, deodorant, and my ladyparts. A lot of the unscented ones are ok but not great, but the Shikai feels a

I met my husband at the age of 44 on OkCupid. We got married last summer. We’re just a bunch of middle aged goofballs with a fondness for bathroom humor and bacon.

LOL! I think there’s some movie out there they all saw and now they’re trying to be the manic pixie dream guy who stays friends with his exes or something.
