I’m searching around for this exact answer as well. Same boat here; AF-D glass has always been my favorite and I’ve gotten accustomed to shooting with a monopod when I’m on location. I’m very curious what the limitations of the F Adapter are. You typically can’t move the lens mount away from the body without losing

For what it’s worth, the new Lightroom Classic (because now there are two versions of it, because Adobe) is a pretty great upgrade. They, for the first time in years, listened to photographers complaints about import/export/develop speeds and fixed them, at least a little bit. I do a lot of events, which means culling

I mean, at this point, it seems like you might as well just move somewhere frigid. How attached are you to your current location? Are you a fan of snow?

Yes. All of the films mentioned were financed independently or by small production companies. A24 just bought their distro rights out of festivals (which is awesome and hopefully allows for higher recoup after the principal financiers are paid out, but still.) Especially with “The Florida Project”, Sean Baker has

That’s pretty much what I do for a living, so I will of course tell you that it’s fun and worth it to book a session with a good portrait photographer. I try not to ruthlessly alter people, but most are surprised when I tell them that EVERYONE gets altered in some way. Photographs take your features and scrunch them

It seems the advice here is “Be able to afford a Montessori school and a nanny.”

I’m genuinely curious how that “known conspiracy theorist” hasn’t been sued for defamation yet (maybe it’s coming, I don’t know.) As you said, he didn’t just say “look at these terrible tweets” but “this person is a pedophile and is part of a pedophile ring.” Can’t you get the shit sued out of you for saying that?

The initial dredging up of his past tweets was done by a prominent far-right conspiracy theorist who claims that Gunn is part of a Hollywood pedophile ring that is kept under wraps by the far left. I consider that an outlandish conspiracy theory.

Oh man, I’ll bet. I’m not a handy type of guy and I just finished my first “new house” project - building a wood fence for the backyard. This is in no way a difficult project (in terms of required skill) and yet, after putting posts in, cementing them, and seeing that they were straight and sturdy, my ego was like

I’ve got a good work area and a jigsaw, so I’m thinking about making it myself. Going to look into a maker space now, though...

Is that a refurbished cabinet or did you build it yourself? If you did it yourself, it’s the perfect shape and I totally want to copy that.

Which is why I think it’s weird that I can’t find a cabinet WITHOUT the CRTV for less than three hundred. And yeah, I really haven’t seen any cabinets for sale with a working CRTV. I’d assume they sell mighty fast on their own, so it’s better to remove it and sell it separately. I also don’t want a CRTV for my build.

I don't know if it's my location (Chicago) or just that it's become a popular thing to do, but I can't find an old cabinet (even in terrible shape) for less than a few hundred. And that's completely gutted - no CRTV or buttons. Now I'm just looking to build one from scratch myself.

I’m a huge Ellison fan and have been reading nothing but his work since he passed, and I’d just like to tell you that you’re awesome for both writing this article and talking to the original designers. I couldn’t love this more.

Right? And they’ve had, what, fifteen years now to collect evidence using a bunch of high-tech weirdo equipment (some of it designed to give false positives) and they STILL can’t do it. We gotta call this at some point, everyone. Ghosts are real, but only in your mind.

I have a 660 TI and I’m surprised how well it holds up. I also don’t mind gaming in 720 to squeeze a little more juice out of it (and at this point I use it more for Lightroom and Photoshop than anything else.) I really think the bottleneck we’re going to hit with these older cards is RAM instead of processor.

I would guess the same reason that, even though the amount of photographs taken in the past twenty years has increased an exponential amount, we don’t see pictures of ghosts anymore.

Solely based on the trailer, I absolutely believe you.

ZING!

It’s just my go-to argument regardless of context. Like when the delivery guy says “Sir, you’re five dollars short” and I just shrug and go “Hey man, people have sex ALL THE TIME in society.” Hasn’t failed me yet.
