I was really hoping the Fire TV would be on sale. I’m assuming that all things made by Amazon that are discounted are already listed - so no luck?

You didn’t really flesh out the “running” part of the running around and sweating hypothesis, and your listed holes in that theory ignore the severe morphological disparities between us and all other apes. Still hypothetical, but distance running to outlast prey is the current front runner. Pun intended.

I always remind people that it should really be called “String Hypothesis”, as it has yet to make any testable predictions. Probably why no one wants to hang out with me,

Post-cranial remains for Paranthropus are sketchy at best. Saggital cresting is a really big difference between specimens. Coupled with the larger zygomatic process, I don’t think it’s crazy to make an argument. I do, however, normally refer to them as robust australopiths and not Paranthropus. So I’m obviously not

I love that I’ve found a fellow lumper. All of my classmates were splitters. I once gave a (I thought convincing) presentation of two samples from Dmanisi that were argued to be distinct species. When their differential metrics were overlapped with those within H. sapiens groups, they were closer together in

I recently graduated with an undergrad in Bio Anthropology and finally, months later, I can say that I used it in the real world -you are correct. Similar findings from the site at Dmanisi show that different morphologies, maybie species, existed at the same time.

“Summer” still isn’t a date. Has anyone mentioned an actual street date yet?

What? I thought that was about ethics in journalism? Those bastards...

No, it’s beneath me. And you are right, I didn’t mean to imply that about you. It was aimed at the general argument that a discussion on the relevance of one’s death must be had in the same article informing us about it, which I find to be false. Sorry for lumping you into that generalization, and I didn’t mean to

I’m certain that if you really put some backbone into it, you could disagree more. Nothing in this article precludes your points from discussion, and there is absolute respect in someone who spent their time being a part of the gaming community having a nice tribute on a site like Kotaku that her parents can read with

That conversation can still happen. If I was a family member of Rachel’s, it would be nice to see a respectful celebration of her life separate from any culturally relevant critique of the horrid situation that led to her passing, especially on a site that celebrates the culture of her work. That in no way precludes a

A cursory Google search showed me how terrible and sad this really is. I applaud this respectful article. This is how adults write about someone’s passing.

Is this remotely affordable, and will you be doing it in the name of journalism? I’m curious what kind of experience is actually to be had there. It looks awesome, but I get the feeling it’s maybe ten minutes of attraction and then an hour of trying not to buy too much stuff.

As far as physics go, the T2i should perform better in low light simply because it has a same (close enough) sized sensor and less megapixels, so each one can collect more light. However, as Shane points out, the software side of newer cameras is only getting better, so unless you shoot RAW and take care of everything

My wife and I are about to close on our first home. We have lived in a condo for the past five years. Please, for the love of all that is holy; don’t ever buy a condo. Especially in Chicago, where most of the population is so amazingly self centered that your neighbors will physically exert themselves just trying to

YES!!!!!!! I thought I was alone. I got a Kiwi chef’s knife at a local Asian market YEARS ago, and it is still the knife I use the most. Between that and my Kyocera ceramic Santoku, I haven’t even looked at my German steel in years. It was four dollars. Four. And it kicks absolute ass.

Screw him. Worth it.

"Fistmas was rough" is a true statement when placed into any context you'd imagine. Anti-hero was my favorite IPA for the longest time, but then I found Stone Brewery's "Go To IPA", which is a session IPA with only 4.5% alcohol. I have a twenty month old kid, so I can't handle the high octane IPA's like I used to.

My dad spent the majority of my childhood ranting about "IT" and how it influenced Alien, so much so that I thought he was batshit insane. Then IT came out on DVD, he made me watch it, and wouldn't you know...

Looks like I can get Smuttynose in my neck of the woods - gonna grab some today.
