Oh, I forgot about Fistmas! You're absolutely right. Name aside, that was terrible.

I live up the street from their brewery and can confirm that all of their beer is excellent. Their "Eugene Porter" is amazing, which is no small feat considering most porter tastes like the ashes of a cremated dog.
This is absolutely true - it’s better than it has any right to be considering the historical record of spinoffs.
It’s certainly enjoyable, and everyone in it is great. It’s tough to captivate viewers when they already know the endgame, though. It makes Mike’s backstory all the more tragic knowing what his future holds, and we’re just waiting to see how all of the new characters are eventually written out of Saul’s life. I don’t…
I picked up Titanfall on PC, partially because I remembered liking the beta, but mostly because it was six dollars. Added bonus: our place is currently on the market and everything is staged, so my PC had to find a home hidden away and hooked up to the television - so no mouse and keyboard for me. I am amazed at how…
There is no reason to upgrade. I have a T3 (the cheapest DSLR they offer) for photos and a T3i for video (running Magic Lantern as well.) The only advantage for photos is a faster cache and there is no advantage for video. The only reason I like the T3i over the T2i is the swivel screen. All of the other T series…
I think so as well. Since most of the NLEs output video of the same quality now, the competition seems to have become about service and demographic. If you have any sort of situation where there are multiple editors working together on a project, Avid is the only way to go. I also think that support is the primary…
I was waiting for someone to mention the amazing value that is Reaper. I cut my student film on Avid and, rather than dealing with ProTools, I did all of the audio production with Reaper. A few versions ago they added video playback support and uncompressed video/audio export, which I don't think most people know…
Chicago Bears fan here, just wanting to drop a hint about what I'd like the team to get for Christmas.
Not exactly the same but close - a friend of mine is in an MFA program for creative fiction and he constantly refers to how hard he is working on his "thesis", which is really a novel he has to write to graduate. I strongly dislike how this term has been taken by academic arts programs to, I suspect, give their…
I think it's worth noting that the majority of our evolution took place in environments where spiders posed a much larger threat than they do to most people living today. Also, eating spiders doesn't seem to have been a thing, unlike most other insects. So no reason to evolve not to be afraid of them.
This is good news for video production at least - Sony image sensors are some of the best out there and it'd be nice to see them show up in more third party cameras (looking at you, Blackmagic).
They mentioned during the presser that the unit can "hop" using its legs, and it might be possible for them to spring off the comet and try landing again. They were hesitant to say anything else until they were certain of its positioning on the surface, though.
The evolution of your teeth disagrees - as well as the development of your digestive system. This is not an obsession, it is the majority of our development. Also, some have hypothesized that our ability to eat dead creatures allowed for our increase in neurological development, the "expensive tissue" hypothesis.
Me too, man. I just play support classes and assume that I will lose any skirmishes. Still fun, I get to sit back on my couch with a beer, and I usually do okay score wise relying on ammo and health support.
It should be noted that $399 is the regular price for the Canon EOS T3. Amazon may be claiming that it's a deal, but alas - it's not.
As everyone has already taken you to task for the numerous reasons this might not be a hoax, I'd like to add a new one that no one seems to be mentioning - the Bethesda store updated their merchandise the other day to include new "Vault 77" gear. The only other merch they sell is for Fallout 3, so I would guess that…
Science runs on probability rather than certainty. All science.
It seems to me that the selective pressure is also non-existent. Sure, Homo sapiens have hands that can be balled into a fist, but it happened with a concurrent loss of muscle mass and rise in socialization. Based on muscle mass alone, I'm pretty sure Homo habilis could beat the holy shit out of anything it desired,…
I have one, the MSI Power Edition. This is my first gaming PC, so I don't have a frame of reference for the performance, but it certainly seems very good. It runs BF3 at ultra settings with no noticeable drop in frame rate, and crushes Borderlands 2. Also, the MSI edition is super quiet, and my entire PC is much…
