“initially fell for the outrage offensive and started banning games”
“Every rule is up for interpretation, so the more rules there are, the greater likelihood that two people will have differing interpretations.”
But that’s not the situation here. We’re talking about developers who submitted games, taking pains to make sure that all content was accurately conveyed, got the approval from Valve, who agreed that they adhered to the rules, had the games on Steam for, in some cases, years, and then suddenly had them kicked off. And…
Except that this whole issue only exists in the first place because there’s an unstated set of criteria that developers recently fell afoul of - despite the fact that they’d had the games on Steam for a while (and had carefully checked, with Valve, that their content didn’t violate the rules). Valve couldn’t tell…
His biggest problem is that he’s not American and has no idea how slow and messed up the politics around US broadband infrastructure is. He’s speaking from a European perspective where there aren’t those net neutrality issues, where broadband is fast, cheap and highly accessible compared to the US.
“Valve’s stance is somewhat ambiguous, but it’s the *least* ambiguous solution I’ve seen”
“Read my mind about what should and should not be allowed on Steam”
I think it’s more that EA agrees with EA’s position that loot boxes aren’t gambling. Actual governments have varying opinions on the matter.
More projection on their part. Every conservative attack and slur seems to be based on projection, now.
“How hard is it to share a little credit with the dead woman who spent years working on the case?”
The fact that fancy boy kings are hugely unrepresented in almost all industries surely proves that they’re being discriminated against? Oh, sure, critics will point out that there are only a tiny number of fancy boy kings, so it would be impossible for even a single industry to have equal representation, much less all…
“what’s the libertarian solution to the tragedy of the commons?”
Asking for it.
Look, I don’t want to come across as a neonate-gnawer myself (even though babies are obviously delicious, and it would be only reasonable to engage in that lifestyle, regardless of what the liberal thought-police would have us believe), but I hate to see Jezebel knuckle under to this kind of censorship pressure. You…
Oh, you coastal elites who think there’s only one cannibal witch out there because only one name has penetrated your liberal, anti-anthropophagus bubble. I bet you’ve never even heard of Rosina Leckermaul, Jenny Greenteeth, Black Annis or Lilith, for example, even though they’re well known for their actions in their…
This guy had more training than the average volunteer would have, as well.
Yeah, the chief seems to be lying about that, too. The student’s father said his understanding was that his son was hit with a bullet fragment, which makes more sense.
That doesn’t make any sense, does it? From the Washington Post story:
“This could be pure wide-eyed optimism on my part”
