Like I said, everything I’ve seen before is human - either Imperium or Imperium-turned-Chaos. Imperium seems to be the most popular option, by far. Doing searches, there don’t seem to have been any attempts to do Genestealer costumes (not surprising, really), and very, very few Necron.

The hair (the wig, that is) and costume look just as good in the “making of” video, though. The photography of the pictures is great and really adds to the effect, though.

Almost all the 40k cosplay I’ve seen is Imperium (with a couple Chaos as well). This is not only the first Eldar costume I’ve seen, but it’s perfect. The detail is amazing - the wig, make-up, ears, armor and weapon details which so nicely give it the appropriate organic look for “Wraithbone,” etc. She looks like WH40K

Yeah, that’s really the only explanation - at first I wondered if it was an attempt to sell off old, outdated high-end hardware that ran hot, then I realized it had integrated graphics... they’re bumping up the prices on low-end PCs by pretending they’re gaming machines.

I find it hilarious that it’s liquid cooled.

“And like I said before, not knowing beforehand that you’d be successful is not the same as being lucky.”

Ok, if we’re not talking about other revenue streams, we agree that marketing is vital, and creating a “community” is one of the few available marketing options when you don’t have a advertising budget. That’s already understood and part of the basic approach by actual indie developers. But the question is whether

“My point in bringing up the analogy to bands going on tour was not to suggest that we would see a direct symbolic match in the game development world”

“They made a game that resonated deeply with an audience, and then they made a series of good decisions based on the landscape at the time.”

You’re talking about marketing here. Those videos were ads, essentially (and someone was spending time making videos rather than games) - not themselves an alternate stream of revenue for the game-makers. It’s the equivalent of a musician having a music video made to help promote and sell their album - not going on

“To this day, they are the template for independent mega-success. Which isn’t to say that every developer could have the same good fortune if they simply copied all of Mojang’s moves, but it’s the best example we’ve got.”

Oh man, that’d be awesome! And we could ask for games!

I think that online streaming platforms, if leveraged appropriately, could form the basis for a solution. A lot of developers rely on, and get solid results from, Youtubers and Twitch streamers playing their games. But maybe if they came up with more home-baked solutions, rather than relying on existing “influencers,”

Yeah, the racism isn’t new (not surprising given how much he idolized his father, who was in the KKK - something we know because he was arrested for brawling with the police at a Klan event), even if there was a period of time when he at least publicly managed to hide his racist attitudes. More than that, he’s got

I think both could be true. He really works with immediate feedback - he says semi-random crap and then sees what crowds respond to. He can see by crowd response that reading anything vaguely articulate or intelligent (off a teleprompter, written by someone else) doesn’t get his audience worked up. You could use

I’m honestly surprised that’s in his vocabulary. I know he dumbs things down, but he’s also, from all accounts, not a very smart guy - and one who never reads - either.

“Donald Trump is a dangerous fool who doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about.”

Did you read about how he was in talks with NBC, during his previous attempt at the Republican nomination, to continue hosting the show in the White House should he actually be elected?

“Why does he ALWAYS sound like the stupidest kid in Kindergarten when he talks?”

“WHY he felt the need to do this”
