Since “Karens” are racists who fabricate false charges to sic the authorities on minorities, the term in no way applies to these characters in this episode. Instead, as the author described, Marian’s faux pas at Peggy’s house reflect and stem from Marian’s white privilege.
I know he is supposed to be as wide-eyed innocent as she, but I secretly want him revealed as the most ruthless social climber of them all.
I don't think of it as a Karen moment; Marian was clearly horribly embarrassed by her mistake(s). A true Karen would have insisted she'd done nothing wrong.
“Okay, so... how many After Effects plug-ins will we need for this movie?”
One could make the same statement about butter, but I doubt people would use that as evidence that butter isn’t good.

He’s right, it is dumb. But Peter Jackson didn’t get any hardware for the Lord of the Rings movies until the whole series was done. Maybe there’s similar thinking going on here given how much the Academy hates awarding genre movies.
Brolin is absolutely right. What Villeneuve was able to do with this book, and the way he did it, was exemplary.
You know, there are two paths you can take when seeing someone living in better working conditions.
On one hand, I get it; I’m currently working an office job after 15+ years in restaurants - I’m making more money and working less than I ever have in my life, I’m giving my bare minimum and my co-workers and manager are somehow bowled over by my “work ethic” and “commitment”. It’s a racket, and I want to take every…
