Cool anecdote. I think car shows in general should approach from that angle: not perfection, correct. It would be more honest.

Right. There is this thing in the classic car community about over-restoring.  A lot of these restorations make cars that are waaaay better than they ever came from the factory.  Cars came off the line with missing badges, overspray, orange peel, mis-aligned panels, etc.  I think that’s what’s driving the current

I had a penny that was off-struck by 50%.  It only fetched $5.  It doesn’t seem like a lot of money, but considering it was $.01 before, that was a pretty good take.

I guess it depends. If the defect doesn’t affect quality, yeah it might be cool. As an analogy, there were a couple of Air Jordan 1s that were released with QC problems. Namely, the Shattered Backboard and Gold Toe Jordan 1s. There were a few pair that somehow made it out to customers with upside-down swooshes. Nike

The truck market is crazy right now.  I wouldn’t personally pay this much for this truck, but it does seem to be in-line with the market, so nice price.

About a decade ago AMA tried this with Harley XR1200s. They were really cool bikes. The problem is, once the novelty wore off (a couple of laps,) the reality set in: you were watching very slow, very loud bikes parade around the track. It sucked. This is an even worse version of that. I’m not even remotely interested.

I can’t wait until Trump is out of office.  It will be fun to see what entertainers come up with to fill the void.

While my comment about us driving unsafe cars was tongue-in-cheek, I do believe that about sports; American football specifically. The better tech. helmets and modern pads have lured players into a sense of false security and they play more recklessly. I think if we taught proper tackling techniques, penalized poor

It doesn’t even take that.  You can be an international airport without ever flying directly to another country.  You just need a customs/immigration section.

Yeah, the V6 was plenty capable.  I did a Marlboro sponsored ride along at the KY Speedway with my dad once.  You got to do 6 laps around the speedway at speed in the passenger seat of one of the old IROC cars.  It was sweet. The other half of the experience was riding in a drift car around a cone/parking lot track.

The Roller just needs a vinyl top, but is otherwise mint. I’ve installed vinyl tops before, but what scares me is that it could likely be swiss cheese under that top.

That car doesn’t have stupid stripes, is generally cleaner, and has 50,000 less miles.

Oh, you took that seriously?

Big ‘n Littles

Oh my.  You definitely have a candidate for the squishy things.  I’ve noticed slacks empty out pockets way more easily than do jeans.  When I have on a pair of slacks and sit down in my car, the pockets are immediately emptied of all contents.

:) I bet you can.  No, I’m not buying this car to get them.

People who collect cars want low miles and no modifications.  This car has passed right on by the collector market, and why the price is too high.

Take off the stripes and this is a pretty decent car.  I’m just not paying almost $20k for it.  Proper call.

Stupid stripes. High price. No Dice.
