Very true. Plus, I'd like to add for the benefit of non-UK people reading this article - his party did not win the election. The guy wanders about selling off parts of the NHS and attempting to sell our national forests as if he did win, but he failed to win an election against one of the weakest opponents he could

Thanks for your post. I totally understand it's more complex than the polarised internet debates can make it seem. I've spent a lot of time in the States, and nearly moved there more permanently, so I've seen the landscape. I do understand that there are many people whose nearest neighbour is many miles away, who

A satellite. You also see it splash into the ocean in the distance, over the shoulder of the survivors in their self-shot video enjoying the rides at Coney Island. Early on at the party, the "cameraman" is warned not to tape over anything important, which he shakily denies, but the viewers occasionally see fragments

You'd be more upset about the friend's demise. Imagine how terrible you'd feel about not doing anything to prevent such an incredibly slow death. Sure, your friend swore by a "live sluggishly, die young" motto, but you wouldn't be able to help feeling that maybe you could have pulled him out of there if you'd just

Funny thing is, that's utter bullshit. The same gun control people in the USA like to quote that bit of nonsense without qualification, followed by "... and the same thing happened in the UK". It's bunk, and here's why.

It's almost as if it's not really a test at all, but a satirical point about 21st century marketing. So I'm not getting accreditation for this?

That's just an American convention. It's not the same for everybody. In the UK, we'll add the comma in cases where it is vital (such as the "strippers, Hitler, and Roosevelt" example in another comment), but most of the time we are encouraged to avoid excessive use of commas.

One of the arguments against the robot theory was given by the reporter for The Atlantic - if there was really a robot that could do this, we'd all be getting called by them all the time. But isn't the reverse true, too? Why am I not plagued with calls from call centres using soundboards?

There's nothing wrong with that. It would be a rare comedian who could find an angle to make a joke about that though.

:D Did you know they put up HD versions to replace the old pixelated ones? Smooth versions: [edit] Had to use TinyURL to avoid accidental embedding - this will take you to the playlist http://tinyurl.com/p7okwlj

To quote Yacht Rock: "Oh, hi! I'm Hollywood Steve. You've just caught me attending the funeral of a loved one"

Not if you read the Snopes piece to the end.

This was great, agreed.

Why Rayman Legends should be game of the year: You think it should be Bioshock Infinite? I agree, it's a great story. You think it should be Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag? I have no quarrel with you, it's a great adventure. Tomb Raider? Oh sure, it was great. However, this is Best Game of 2013, and there was a

You started out on "if..." and ended up on "BASTARDS". I haven't noticed the backers complaining about feeling ripped off so far, so presumably they knew what they'd paid to do. No need to sack off the whole thing because of a hypothetical affront. Plus once it's on Steam, you'll no doubt be able to track down cheap

Yeah it does :( I can't see Frank anymore!

Ooh, although... I see Frank N. Furter but you posted another one on a different thread apparently, and complained that you couldn't see that one either. Well, neither can I! Sorry.

It's there, don't worry! For some reason, gifs often appear for everyone else except the person who posted them, but if that happens then everything fixes itself automatically a couple of minutes later.

Hey. Watch this - history of clocks to automata (pretty much an immediate jump):

It's alright as long as people take responsibly and use a buy-some-steal-some approach, but if the next generation is more like steal-all then we're fucked. So we have to be sensible about this and not just wash our hands of it after observing that, "hey, rich people are still rich". A tiny fraction of musicians has a
