Yeah, I don't know how it would work for a big publisher (although CDPR owns GOG.com, and that at least is a whole shop of DRM-free games), but certainly on CDPR's current scale it's turned piracy of The Witcher series into a moral issue among piracy advocates and thus increased their earnings enough to cover this

Have you seen a recent figure? Steam's record for concurrent users to date was just over 6m, and I can't find an equivalent for XBox Live more recent than 2009 (3.5m).

Ah okay, I'll give them a try. It's not my usual kind of theme, but I expect I'll enjoy the games regardless if they're as good as everyone says!

I think the problem is being called Todd. I've never met a nice Todd. They're the kind of people who say, "HEY I ALREADY TOLD BRODY TO WARN YOU BUT IF I SEE YOU AT MACGONIGAL'S THIS WEEKEND, ME AND JARED ARE TOTALLY GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS"

What's your problem? I've never played a Projekt Red game, but this is obviously a good thing. It's beyond belief that anyone could be against this, or the company.

As far as I know, Projekt Red offers a free "backup" of any of their Witcher games. You enter the product code at GOG, and get your pure DRM-free download.

I think they have an option to enter product keys on GOG to get a free backup of your purchase.

Since Portal 2 shipped 8m across all platforms, the PS3 will account for a negligible part of the Steam user count. I would expect a high number of these remaining accounts are active since they're tied to a library. No doubt some are accounts owned purely by players of free games and a certain number may have been

So do I. It's making a very weird sound right now, like a two-oscillator synth going through a light phaser effect. I assume this is normal for sloths.

They're releasing lots of indie games to make indies look bad? Those bastards! I can only imagine the fortune Valve stands to make after their plan to besmirch indie gaming comes to fruition.

Yes. Valve is in a no-win situation, it seems. They were criticised for not doing enough for the indie developers, and so brought us Greenlight. Then, Valve copped more flak for not getting games through the system fast enough, so they reduced the entry requirements and accelerated approvals. Now, they're told to slow

No, that's got to be wrong. 5% of its boxed editions, maybe, but PC sales are a digital market. Ubisoft's overall sales for Q4 2012 show the PC market at 20%, despite the fact that games are cheaper on PC, and the 20% figure is pretty standard for all the major games companies - PC is a reliable and sizeable market

Wait... 46% of Democrat men and 31% of Democrat women do not agree that it would be a good thing if more women were elected to Congress?

Christians, as well. Women are commanded to cover their hair, especially in church (Corinthians). Catholicism had its own culture (beyond the Bible) involving the covering of women's heads, which was struck down only in the early 1900s. If you look around the world, plenty of Christian cultures insist on women's hair

You're right, it's totally the wrong word.
