Oddly, I have gone through PreCheck security a few times at my “home” airport (PDX), and the TSA agent said that they didn’t need my ID. It’s never happened at any other airports, but it does happen occasionally. I have no idea how they’re supposed to confirm anyone’s identity with just a boarding pass, but whatever.

Texas took my old state ID while they were making and sending me a new one in the mail.
