I hope you’ve learned your lesson not to have an opinion on the internet unless you qualify every possible strange interpretation someone could have of your statements.

Can Amy even fit in the school?

In industry?

Could you say something like “Okay! Let me know when you have the numbers.” or “Alright - let’s save that discussion for next time then.”?

It does seem in these conversations that “black men” tend to get equated with “poor black men” and “white women” tend to get equated with “middle and upper middle class white women.” But there are middle class and wealthy black men and/or black men who grew up with great education and great social support (from their

I promise I am not trying to argue but comment and some others about who was president 1st etc always make me wonder what is the discussion we are having. Is the question whether the average experience of a black man is harder than the average experience of a white woman? Or is it which is harder, all else being

I’ve seen this conversation elsewhere on Jezebel and this time am joining the fray :) . I’m a white women married to a black man (which sounds like a stereotype to type out but whatever) and our lives are pretty similar in quality and we both lead pretty privileged lives. The last time I saw this conversation it

Sorry I keep responding to you as I read down this thread but if you came away from that scene thinking the black actor is worse than Hannah than we see the world VERY differently. Hahahahah Hannah is AWFUL in that scene. It is cringe-inducing and Donald Glover is totally reasonable and normal. Maybe Hannah’s

Although I would suspect she is very self-involved

My feelings exactly. Lena’s kind of annoying, but she can be funny and the response to her always seems out of proportion to the offense.

okay - I haven’t seen that episode in a long time but I think the point was that Hannah was awful for telling a black guy what he is supposed to believe when she has no idea what’s she’s talking about. It was a skewer of white people who know some but not-quite-enough about race issues. I’m not some huge fan of the

Yes, I mean people were rooting for Walter White who poisoned a child to keep up his drug success.

I think they want you to root for the characters a little bit to make you invested in the show but the characters have always been purposely presented as awful, self-absorbed people. I did feel like they ratched it up in later seasons to make it more obvious that they knew that.

This is a huge and vast generalization!

And let me also point out people are very excited to learn the baby’s estimated weight in the third trimester. Any information = exciting.

It’s about literally the only thing you get to know about your child except that is is human, and the presence or absence of health problems (less fun!). Learning the gender is extremely exciting. And yes, there are going to be differences based on gender when the child is older, at the very least, as a mother, you

There is a group of people in the middle though - the most feverent anti-vaccine woman I know loves her son fiercely and advocates from the personhood of people with autism. She does not, however, love dealing with the school refusing to do various things for him, or things like neighbors sending her anonymous notes

That is so strange. I listened to that show a little when I was younger but definitely don’t remember that. Also, is that even at all a thing? Trauma begets high voices?

You are the second person on here to mention a high pitched voice and a link to abuse - what??? I don’t get the connection

Probably the Clintons simply aren’t as diabolical as people say. Hillary is unlikely to let go of one of the most trusted members of her inner circle and at the say time Hillary cannot control Huma’s husbands behavior.
