Yeah if the Base has 600+ HP started at $75K, plus Fed/State incentives, that would be the deal of the century.  But come to think of it, even if the Base is a slower version (let’s say Tesla 75D performance so 4.2 sec 0-60), that’s still about as fast as a Panamera 4S, which starts at 103K.  So 20-30K less than a

Does anyone know if the Taycan base model will actually be 600+ HP and have a 0-60 of 3.5 seconds? Or are they constantly quoting the “Taycan Turbo” and the base will be a single motor with ~450 HP and slower overall? I don’t see how they can offer a base Taycan for 80K and it’s faster than a $150K Panamera Turbo

I have to admit that even though I love the look of the Panamera, I could never justify the price. For 85K you get a stripper version that’s barely faster than a Toyota Camry V6.  Best bang for your buck with Porsche is get a CPO 911 that’s 2 years old with low mileage.  Practically brand new, was probably 120K MSRP

We won’t know the exact EPA range until closer to release. And the Model S 75D, which is closest to the 75-80K estimated MSRP of the Taycan, has an NEDC range of 304 miles or 259 EPA. So it’s right around the range of it’s direct competitor. I’m sorry that your brain is having trouble processing that there’s

VW and the Electrify America project will be setting up 500 charging stations by June 2019. Porsche itself will be setting up an additional 500 stations by late 2019 when the Taycan launches. So you are correct that availability is #1, but once there’s availability, there’s a huge difference between waiting 30 minutes

I don’t see much competition vs. the Model 3, so there might be some folks priced out, but there’s really not a great alternative if they’re looking for an EV for $50K or less.

This. 2-3 year old 911 will lose maybe 20-25% of value. 2-3 year old i8 loses 60%? Ouch.

I don’t get the appeal of Maserati. You’re dropping a Ferrari engine into a Chrysler car. Performance wise every car they make gets blown away by the German competition for less money.  They’re also unreliable and poorly put together. But I guess for the folks desperately trying to appear rich, it makes them happy?

Yeah that’s a huge deposit, but if you’re a super rich person who wants a rare 911 R (they were selling for over a million at one point), I guess that’s not completely unreasonable. Here’s the details from the prior article.

The tape is there to tease you, make your imagination go wild and build anticipation.  Wait are we talking about the same thing?

Champion Porsche and Sookralli were sued like a year before this all happened because Sookralli failed to deliver a car that a customer put a $500K deposit on.  They probably should have realized something shady was going on then.  But at least they’re owning up to it and paying back customers in the end.

Perfect for single folks, but not if you have kids to haul around every so often. For us married folks, I present the cake.

I’m working on the same 911 proposal to the wife. Luckily she has an SUV, so if we’re going to Costco we’ll just go in that.  Saving grace is the two rear seats for kids.

Ohh, I’m going to have to give this a try. I used to play a ton of MtG back in the day, starting out with Exodus, and played on and off for many years. Played a bunch of Hearthstone when it first came out and overall enjoyed the experience but did not like the randomness of the card effects or the simplicity of the

“Sir, where did you get that iMac strapped to your dashboard!?!” I’d be nervous AF driving around a Model 3 if I wasn’t half white.

Doesn’t seem worth the $75K cost. Especially since you can easily get 100+ extra horsepower on a Base 991.2 Carrera by dropping $10K on some new turbos.  Buy a Base CPO for 85k, and for 95K total you can have a 911 Turbo that usually sells for 160K. That there is some value.

For some reason their affiliate landing page has zero information. If you go to the main website it has a break down of what’s in each box. Kind of disappointing the cuts of beef aren’t exactly top notch. Who pays top dollar for Top Sirlion and Chuck Roast? What am I some kind of peasant?

This is 100% the correct answer.  Driving your two kids and wife around in a targa with the top down?  Best family time ever. Also, I’ve seen pictures of people with front facing car seats in the back of a 911. Rear facing probably won’t work but I imagine front facing should be too much of a problem.

It’s like when a politician says tax breaks are going to “boost our economy”. What they really mean is that a small group of individuals/corporations are going to make a shit ton of money, and we should be happy thinking that perhaps one day, a long time from now, a small crumb might fall from their plate and we can
