Just hand him a tissue when he does it. No need to shame him. He probably doesn't even realize he's doing it. If you give him a tissue every time he does it, he'll become more conscious of what he's doing, and will correct it on his own.
next time he does it you could offer him a tissue (politely) and see if that snaps him out of it, he might not even notice it anymore.
