I agree, it’s a fun and silly and pervy movie. The movie finds a way to remind us that shock value still has value, and can be done in a way that entertains us. The criticisms feel shallow since the movie isn’t trying to go deep.

I actually liked Saltburn. It is wildly uneven but I don’t mind that it’s derivative (it’s to The Talented Mr. Ripley what Cruel Intentions is to Dangerous Liaisons) and I really enjoyed the wild swings into satire.

I don’t think it’s against actors doing that, but in the movie Natalie Portman’s character is so desperate to humanize this pedophile, that she dehumanizes the actual victim and uses him as a tool to gather information for her own gains. I don’t think there’s really any humanity to Moore’s character, except that

caught the top clip on x (formerly twitter) last night and i think it encapsulates both what actual funny is and why chappelle is such a loser now.

This trailer is fetch.

Ehh I don’t know, most 20+ season shows do have a lot of episodes that are boring or unnecessary.  Rewatching 12 Monkeys recently makes me think that tight ~12 episode seasons are the way to go.

I’ve seen greenlit used in the production sense as well and it’s the word used by Martin in his blog. Maybe consider saving your complaints for more deserving targets?

Merriam-Webster says both are equally acceptable: https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/whats-the-past-tense-of-green-light#:~:text=Greenlit%20is%20simply%20following%20an,in%20fact%20still%20in%20use.

“The killer is definitely an actor we fired, but we fired everyone, so that doesn’t get us anywhere. I dunno why we’re still on-set. I’ve been filming the wall just to say I did something today.”

If you don’t expect it to be a masterpiece, you’ll enjoy it. It’s a straightforward & unpretentious action movie. It’s just not as engaging as its more novel predecessor though. It could’ve been better if they didn’t bench Mera.

In my mind this is the actual choice the MCU has. I don’t see any reason to pivot to a different villain. Either you recast and pretend nothing’s different, or you recontextualize to a perfectly teed up Alt-Kang with someone whose already proven her skill and seems well-liked. The only problems with it are that it

Why don’t you tell us again? You’re probably the guy that modifies dishes to hell then complains about them. I’m sure these restaurants don’t want you either.

They aren’t paid enough to do investigative journalism.

Well I mean she has had long brown hair her entire career, so it is kind of a signature, in the same way Emma Stone was known for having long red hair.

Once again, for those that had their fingers in their ears, if the other person did not explicitly say yes, or was not in a psychological place to understand, then the answer is NO.

In the latter instance, Jabbari recorded some of his ranting, in which he demanded she be more like Michelle Obama or Coretta Scott King. The audio, referenced in the prosecution’s opening arguments, was played for the jury (per Variety and Vulture). “I’m a great man. A great man. I do great things for my culture and

Since Robbie was producing, I’d wager she had some say.

Glad she told Roven to pound sand...both films could inhabit the same space on the same date and be successful, as was proven.

I’m surprised that Lady Eboshi is mentioned as the anti-villain of Princess Mononoke, when she’s arguably an anti-hero, much like Sen: she’s protecting lepers and sex workers who have been abused and abandoned by the rest of society, providing them with a place to stay, work and live with dignity, and arming them to
