I’m not so sure about that. I think that theory generally holds for horror movies, but Scream is a little different imo. In the same way that people come back to F13 and Nightmare for Jason and Freddy respectively, I think a big part of the franchise appeal for fans is Dewey/Sydney/Gail. And that’s become even more

I like this. I’m stealing it.

It’s just worded awkwardly - “at the time” wasn’t meant to differentiate from now but to track the connection from Sarah Paulson to Amanda Peet through Matthew Perry. The Birds are still delightfully themselves and best friends.

If it’s laid anything bare, it’s that any criticism of Israel is branded as “antisemitic” in order to stifle Palestinian perpsectives, and has been for a long time.

Oh, she is quite impressive in Vida. Highly recommend.

I think we’re all forgetting that Bradley Cooper became an alcoholic country veteran with a death wish, and who discovered our favorite pop star Ally, for A Star Is Born. When he became limitless in Limitless, that was for real. He’s limitless! When he was hungover in The Hangover, who else is willing to go those

Some people say intent doesn’t matter when it comes to Jewface or blackface or similar things. To that I say: what made those things bad in the first place if not the intent?

It was a choice, I believe, to enhance the idea of the Deal With The Devil, regardless of consequences towards others.

Almost as brave as using “brave”, a very obvious holdover edgelord “joke” from South Park, as sarcasm!

I mean ... Greg is definitely coming back, yes? He’s like the weird back note in each season that helps make the whole thing work. Aside from that, would love to see Connie Britton’s Nicole return (I think I heard that was a possibility). But the real deep cut would be for Kai to resurface.

I don’t know...I like them keeping the story tight and letting us spend extended time with each of the characters. It’s what make it work. Not to mention the season is supposed to take place in the span of time of a vacation.

Wow, Hunter Schaefer is an *incredible* choice I would’ve never thought about. Aside from having the look down already, she has a vulnerability with an undercurrent of quiet strength that is perfect for Zelda.

Shit sucked for a lot of people in the past, and they left contemporary accounts of how much the shit sucked. We’re not putting modern values on top of period pieces, we’re acknowledging that the same diverse, weird, funny, smart, yearning kinds of people who exist now were straining under the weight of societies that

I’m calling it now, Timotheé Chalamet will be cast, or at least audition for the role of Link.

idk if I was especially emotional, but *spoiler* the end of the movie had me full wet teared face in the theatre. Seeing Priscilla leave Elvis and the cage he had her trapped in, wanting more for her daughter, and needle dropping Dolly Parton was one of the most cathartic scenes in a movie this year.

Oof, I would’ve preferred an animated Zelda. Animation is getting so creative and I can’t remember the last live-action epic that looked good. The director of the Maze Runner doesn’t inspire confidence either.

I am not one movie!

I’d show up regardless of whether the Avengers showed up. This is MY Barbenheimer.

Please, leave my boy Nathan out of this. He graduated from business school with really good grades.

In part, because the Palestinians have no way to get out of Gaza. There are 2 gates, Israel controls one, and Egypt the other. Israel has threatened sanctions on Egypt if they open their gate, and allow mass evacs (a couple hundred people might leave per day). So Israel penned in 2.2 million people, and are
