getting help isn’t bad.
blaming people who didn’t receive help for not being as successful as you (i.e., calling them lazy or unresourceful)?
that IS bad.

I’m a first generation as well, and I’ve had several of my girlfriends of color be asked “where they are from.” I’ve never been asked this, even though I *was* born in a different country (none of my exes were), because I’m white. UGHHHHHHH
Where can we TiVo this excellent-sounding show?
You may have intimated my distaste for him by the wording, but I understand why you might not originally assume someone has good reasons for not liking their father ;)
Yes, his rampant sexism, homophobia and racism make him pretty amazing. He especially likes blaming brown people for being frisked in airports for daring to “look like terrorists.”
This one actually makes me tear up a little because I just became a dedicated fan of BCO and now it’s gone. :((( Who is making these shitty decisions and why?!
Can someone explain...who does the “purging” and why? I haven’t been around long enough to get it...is this because Leah left? #inthedark
I’m so confused. What is happening?? Why are people leaving!
wow. you know you done fucked up as a parent if your *adopted* child applies for emancipation.
I have a weak chin, it runs on my dad’s side of the family. Like, almost as bad as Bob’s Burgers characters weak. Like, if I tilt my head back, I can look like a worm quite easily. However, I am thin otherwise.
My mom once said to me: “I like everything about you...except your chin. That is the only part of you that I…
I’m missing something...BCO is not gonna be a thing anymore?!
right, but decreasing the spread of disease through education concerning contraception wouldn’t help the low-income people avoid the diseases if they can’t afford condoms OR the doctor, in the first place.
Unfortunately STD tests aren’t as infallible as people think. I got a full battery of tests, including blood tests, and I came back negative for everything besides cold sores/oral herpes. My girlfriend has tested positive for HSV-2 from a swab when she had an outbreak, but had a blood test done last week that came…
AGREED. Most of these are not a big deal. Even w/ herpes, yes it’s forever, but no it doesn’t really affect your life much (especially on antivirals). I feel like shaming & scaring people is pretty unnecessary. Who cares about diseases that are easy to get rid of, other than in those who are immunocompromised?
Lol, I didn’t realize Millenials were all experiencing abstinence only, I thought that was just me. We were literally told in school that condoms don’t protect against STDs, just pregnancy (and badly). Also, I don’t really see the big deal with most diseases mentioned in the article since they’re all curable. I guess…
particularly considering that most children don’t have shitty families and have little empathy for those who do
or I might have had less because children would have been told by their parents that they should vote for measures that would decrease their rights, and with limited access to outside information, would have taken their word on it.
I had a truly shitty childhood where my stepfather started pestering me for rent money at FIFTEEN, and it pisses me off when people talk about “discrimination against children” when they get mad because their mommy took their xbox away. there are the kids who actually have disadvantages, and the whiny ones. most of…
does one, though? I don’t know if one does. I’m guessing you’re either a teenager or 20, because I know very few people who believe that at 16 you have the “capacity for deep reflection.” when I was 16, I doodled my boyfriend’s last name next to mine because I hadn’t been exposed to other ways of thinking. now, as a…
and in that vein, most adults who vote like their parents choose to do so, but still have opportunities to become exposed to other viewpoints. most children don’t. AND, children are shackled by parent’s expectations. adults are shackled by societal expectations. none of us are truly free as long as we have bills to…
