A no-clothing-for-women rule would pretty much confirm my already strong suspicion that Trump is actually a Ferengi trying to prepare our planet for a takeover.

The phrase “a shocking lack of baby-sized guillotines” is the best thing that’s happened to me all day.
Every group has a handful of people that are more outspoken or extreme than the rest, but for the most part PETA is totally fine, if you actually look into it. I think PETA being crazy is just one of those things people say because it’s what they’ve always heard.
Looking at anything that’s not meat gives you gas?
It’s just easier to call vegan versions of things the name of what they’re based on, so people know what they’re going for. Also the alternative is creating new words for things and somehow standardizing those words. Too much work for something that’s not really a big deal.
I dunno, the number of vegetarians and vegans has gone up pretty significantly in the past couple of years, so maybe it’s not SO normal.
Eh, I found after awhile I just didn’t want that stuff anymore. I think the key is thinking about the source instead of the taste when you’re remembering it.
For serious. I feel like people try one kind of vegan cheese one time and then just decide all vegan cheese is terrible. Or just don’t like it because it’s “not real cheese”. Like....duh. That’s the literal point.
This sentence is a godamn delight:
They absolutely can, and should. I just meant that if one were using soy milk for the protien and calcium and not because they like it then there lots of easy alternatives. No challenge to your personal preferences intended.
Soy contains phytoestrogens. Not quite the same, and totally fine/safe in reasonable amounts. This article does a good job at pulling a lot of information together.
I mean, you can easily get protien and calcium in the rest of your diet as well. There's no need for that to be the deal breaker.
She did! I think one of the things that causes problems for people is that you have to be more actively aware of your diet, and that’s not something most people are used to. It was an adjustment for me at first, definitely.
I didn’t think you are, and I’m not offended atall! It sucks that your friend had that experience, I’d be pretty bummed if that happened to me. The only way to really know what’s causing a reaction like that is to get blood work done, I’d imagine. I knew someone once who had a similar experience and it turned out to…
I am 😊
True, but neither need anything that can’t be gotten from a plant based diet (except b12, which a lot of omnivores are short on as well.)
A vegan diet doesn’t withhold nutrition, it just pulls from different sources. The only thing you can’t get from plants is b12.
It’s worth noting that most soy formula is vegan, so if you've ever met a lactose intolerant baby, you've probably also met a vegan baby.
Not if you’ve done some basic research. I switched from vegetarian to vegan a year ago and it was pretty simple. There’s one thing, and one thing only, that can’t be had from a plant based diet, and that’s b12.
