Right, but again, this is lacking much concrete evidence either way. So even after consideration, there’s probably not much that would have changed her mind. Again, without proof, I’d believe my dad or husband or brother over some stranger after probably any amount of consideration.

The right to be believed doesn’t dictate personal behavior. It’s a standard for police investigation and public reporting - the idea that any alleged rape is likely true and should be investigated and the victim supported. It doesn’t mean that a woman must believe the word of a stranger over that of her husband and

One assumes when Hillary Clinton says that sexual assault victims have a right to be believed, she means by the authorities etc. when they report. Because a lot of women have a hellish time with the police and whatnot placing the burden of proof on sexual assault victims and re-victimizing them. And I also agree with

It’s puzzling that so many people are angrier at Hillary than at the man actually accused of rape. And that includes the alleged victim.

Yeah this really bugged me. Like when I dated this guy I met in some activism circles who called me a sellout for pulling back on my activism and focus my time on going to grad school to become a librarian. A LIBRARIAN, of all things, was a sellout to him.

It bugs me just a bit that you felt you had to quit a lucrative gig because it offended your boyfriend’s finely tuned sense of social justice. From the way it sounds, you weren’t depriving a non-white student of a place at UT Austin; you were just indirectly helping prop up the delusions of adequacy of mediocre white

Took my almost 4 year old with me today. She helped me feed the ballot into the machine and I explained that I was happy to vote for a women to be in charge of the country.

Amen and well put. As a woman, I don’t think I fully understood how much I needed to see that until I saw her up there

Her speech, with its references to Seneca Falls and all the history that came before, was in perfect tune.

I’m waiting for someone else to say Yay, Hillary! so that they can shoulder the brunt of the anger and conspiracy theories.

More like 20+ years! And two Oscar moms. Oh, misogyny....

Yeah, but he thinks she's pretty so he can say whatever else he wants.

These female directors seemed to have no issues with her, so...

So, she totally rebuffed his flirting and he’s taking his hurt fee-fees to the media, right?

I felt like Mugatu when I read that quote! What reality is this guy living in where acting is not about pretending??

My best guess, actually, is that you don’t know much about the subject. I don't say that to be combative or cruel, but I generally have a good sense about these things.

No. The UK population is in general somewhat anti-Semitic, but hugely anti-Israel. Left wing UK governments tend to reflect this, c.f., Shah, Livingstone, Galloway, etc., right wing ones not so much. Here in the US, most of our politics are dead center to hard right, which does not 100% reflect the US pop (hard core

No, you were right to not compare it to the Holocaust. Jews get H-word privileges, the same way black people get N-word privilages. We’re also the only ones allowed to compare people to Hitler.

As someone not Jewish, I didn’t feel comfortable saying if something seemed ok to me. I always err on the side of: is it the Holocaust? No? Then don’t compare it to the Holocaust. But of course I respect your feelings on this.

It’ll be difficult to believe this is set ten years after the original, because Paul Rudd hasn’t aged a day since then.
