This is what I saw when I read :

Honestly in my experience they make a world of a difference. I KNOW I look a million times better in spanx because I have a tiny but unflattering pooch. But the thing with sororities is you can't call out one girl and tell her that she should wear spanx so you advise everyone to. Even girls with perfect bodies can

Reading things like this make me thankful to be an art major. You could show up to the studio at midnight wearing fuzzy pajama pants and nobody gave a crap because everyone there was just trying to crank out a decent study before a deadline.

I kinda felt the same way with the kind that's sorta like a half leotard; I'm not large I just wanted to be smoothed out. I felt like it made me boxy looking. I just bought another set of the thigh and butt ones, mostly because I have a bridesmaids dress that a smidge too small and i'm hoping it'll help to streamline

Yeah, I know someone who wears them on occasion or at least used to when she went out. She's a big girl and they hold everything in place. While I can see the difference and she does look good they just look waaaaay too uncomfortable as hell. However, they make her feel better about how she looks.

I agree! When I'm getting all fancy, I always try on my dresses with my one pair of spanx (they are expensive!) and then usually opt to go spanx free. I don't quite know how to describe it. I feel like my natural curves and bumps etc look better to the perfectly smooth, tube effect. I feel like I look thinner without

Agreed! In the picture in the email I actually thought the "before" lady looked better, because the after lady had no curves, just a figure like two vertical lines.

I wore spanx on my wedding day because everyone said I should. Honestly though, I don't feel like it did anything for me beside make me feel really self conscious about the small bulges it created at my ribs and thighs. I probably wore the wrong one but wtf did I know? I was 22 and not anything close to girly enough

I've tried them, occasionally.

It looks good on me because I don't have a ton of fat, but just enough that I have some bulges. Don't like the feeling of wearing them though, it's so constraining and hard to take off when you have to pee.

Agreed! I wear Spanx when I wear dresses that might show the line of my underwear, but I wear a 3X Spanx when I do that. I normally wear a L/XL in clothing, so to get the panty-hiding effect without the tube effect, I have to wear a size waaaaaay bigger than recommended. I'm not sure I could even squeeze my lovely,

Blergh. I don't do shapewear. I think a nice slip has the same smoothing effect without all the struggling to get it on and the feeling of not quite being able to take a deep enough breath all day.

I'm a theatre producer and this makes me crazy.

I love how liberals manage to ban artistic expressions that conservatives have been fighting against for years.

Okay, I realize Mount Holyoke is a women's college, but Vagina Monologues is performed everywhere, and even men are allowed to watch it. Men without vaginas. Maybe some men with vaginas, but probably more men who will never have the experience of having a vagina. Their experience is pretty excluded from what

Have they cancelled other cultural events because the lack of existence of a particular portion of society in a cast means they are racist or phobic to them? I certainly understand the desire for inclusion but they could be cancelling things all year.

Sounds good :)
