@Adam: There are seven Beacon Streets and none of them are the same street. I wish someone had told me that. I was so lost that I was driving on the median and no one on the streets noticed. No one. How is this possible? Boston is the worst.
@goatrope: It's a really interesting book. It's basically falls into that Freakonomics/Gladwell territory, which helped make it a bestseller.
@Triborough: See here: [gawker.com]
@Trick: Okay, maybe *you* shouldn't drive in NYC. I've driven in NYC and throughout Brooklyn and Queens and I am from Flyover country. And, no, I don't live there. I was visiting. It's not that hard. Too lazy to read through comments but Governor Jane Swift did happen.
@balls187: Thanks, Chris Rock.
@joslyn.da001: okay, i thought it was just me. It took me a while to figure out which was MJ. I'm a little off my pop culture game today.
@SinisterBill is bi-console: Kind of. The TSA periodically catches things that people try to sneak on to planes. Also, the TSA allows most of the overwhelmingly anti-terrorism/anti-dying passengers to get on the planes. Therefore, the TSA allows the last and one of the best lines of defense against an on-board…
@OldEnough2BYourMama: Partially. But he wasn't only the TSA no-fly list even though he was denied entry into the UK, so that's partially the fault of poor international communication. The aftermath was all TSA dumbass reaction though.
I assume by "the system worked" she means "United 93" and the "attempted shoe bombing being stopped". Meaning, passengers know what to do when shit gets out of hand in the cabin. Because, that system definitely seems to be working just fine. And I think that's our top-level security.
