All for outreach-whatnots but we really need a moratorium on giving major sporting events to nations that simply can’t afford the infrastructure needed to host them.

Drives me insane the number of people watching events through the screen of their phones anymore. There are professionals there to capture the images so you can relive it later, but you have to live it at all to find the enjoyment those frames offer. Put your damn phones away and watch what you came to see.

This is literally being filmed by professional cameramen from umpteen angles. Why in the FUCK would you not just enjoy the moment instead of trying to view it through the screen of your goddamn phone?!

Don't you mean, "Albom was placed under heightened observation after fears he may kill himself surfaced"?

Early autumn/late spring they were always down there, especially under Peterson.

This is good Kinja.

How does this man know more about the value of a bee's life than the value of an out?

Sad last year after going to watch Abreu a couple times, he reminds me more of Edgar than any hitter I've seen since. He's incredible to watch at the plate.

Attended UT and you'd run into members of the men's team at The Bubble (old indoor sports complex) sometimes during pickup games. Down there in 2003, CJ Watson and Ron Slay plus a couple other names I don't remember show up. We're playing 3-on-3 and win a couple in a row.

Edgar typically only tapped once. The second tap was an adjustment to that pitch. You'd see him do it on inside pitches, too, mostly breaking balls.

Now playing

Edgar Martinez's approach was much the same. He actually plants twice on this 2001 bomb off Chuck Finley as he adjusts to the outside location. (at 2:35 if it doesn't load automatically)

I see what uva done there.

Had the pleasure of talking to Mr Banks on a few occasions. Every bit the class act every story about him indicates. Met him for what was supposed to be a 15 minute session once; turned into nearly an hour of me just sitting back and listening. Brilliant man and one who won't be replaced.

They didn't just get the story about his purchase of this land from Wal-Mart this week; it ran last January. I believe even Deadspin had a story on it then.

"Pillage, burn and ra...! Eh, maybe just pillage and burn. Let's stop there."

That 'Bohemian Rhapsody' cover was the worst thing ever to happen on a television program. Fuck me, it was bad.

I was at an Applebee's drinking $2.50 Coors Lights. I'm ashamed to this day.

Ain't no rape charges on ol' Rocky Top, KPD will make it go away.

Review unclear, dick caught in fan.
