The Ford - Foyt Indy V8 is best because A.J. Foyt ! The engine traces its lineage back to the Miller inline 8 because Miller designer Leo Goossen, along with Miller engine builder and three time Indy 500 winner, Louis Meyer, helped develop it. It first won Indy in 1965 with Jim Clark at the wheel of the Lotus 38.

Duesenberg is on the right track. But when it comes to straight eights, the best is a Miller (who might have stolen the cam profiles from Duesenberg to make his cars faster).

Henry Ford was an anti-semite who was admired by Hitler.

I am interested to see how Elon’s Boring enterprise pans out. I wouldn’t put the death knell on it just yet.

I see the GM Firebird III. Without the Cone of Silence.

And it’s great with Vodka or whiskey, rum or tequila too.

....And YouTube tells me the visibility from a P-63 is not better than other planes of similar vintage.

The B17 certainly could have been in the P-63's blindspot.

While metal fatigue and engine issues are things to worry about, it doesn’t seem to be a limiting factor with these old warbirds as long as they are well maintained. I would like to see WWII warbirds continue to fly as long as it’s safe. It doesn’t seem that this recent crash had to do with aircraft age since one

It’s probably cheaper to go to a European Grand Prix. Hotel room rates are between $800 and $1,500 per night (from Downtown to the Bellagio...I checked). Haven’t checked flights. Think I’m going to take in an Indycar race next year, maybe even the 500 ! I can afford that.

Now if the F1 overlords would just allow Americans to race in F1, they might keep themselves from squandering their good will. Doesn’t seem to be the case as they’ve recently put up barriers to Colton Herta (driver) and Andretti Autosport (team owner).

There is a similar class action suit underway for owners of certain Hyundai and Kia models, claiming excessive oil consumption.

Socialists !

I have a German friend and made the mistake of pointing out that he pronounces German as Ch-erman. He got pissed off at me because he felt I was making fun of his accent. Germans pronounce G as CH. They just do. I wasn’t making fun of it; just making an observation.

Jag - U - are is correct, except in the United States where it has become Jag-Wire or irrelevant. I own one. I go Jeremy Clarkson and say I have a Jaaaaaaaag.

Why is everyone so upset? They found the gun at the end of the video! And yet everyone is accusing these cops of incompetence. I’m sure they serve admirably in a neighborly small town with regularly scheduled train service.

I’m sure it’s an energy efficient diesel car. Though it would be fun to see the Prez roll some coal !

Back in high school, in 1974, I had a 1962 Jaguar E-type convertible and not a lot of money. This was a $1,000 car and I spent my life savings to buy it.

Ran when docked. We know what we’ve got !

I was just discussing, “If I won the lottery,” with someone who regards cars as appliances, yet Aston Martin is his car of choice over Ferrari. Now, he probably won’t win the lottery, but there you have it. Anecdotal proof of positive brand recognition!
