Over and over, my attention keeps going to the conservative women defending this piece of shit

These Republicans must have a pretty low opinion of men if they assume that all of you have sexually assaulted someone at least once.

The Republican party wants to prevent the “ruining people’s lives” because they did dumb shit as underage teenagers. This is a good thing.

“How can you disprove something like that? Which means, if that’s the new standard, no man will ever qualify for the Supreme Court again.”

Also? One who feels like he might have to cover his tracks more than once:

Check out raw story's piece on Avenatti's latest tweets intimating that this story is just starting with Glassy. "More to come", he says.

Too late. If there’d been any adherence to procedural norms in these proceedings, Grassley and Hatch would’ve demanded the FBI investigation of the attempted rape allegations, which is so standard in a SCOTUS confirmation hearing that the two of them are on video saying so in the Clarence Thomas hearings ... instead

It sounds like the DA is much more to blame than the judge. He made the plea deal, while the judge just accepted it.

A few readers have pointed out that the judge who presided over this case, Michael Corey, is up for re-election this year. As well, a follow-up news story from KTVA reports that the state will help contact the woman at the center of the case and make her aware that she has 90 days to file for restitution.

It’s infuriating how sex workers are targeted and how their portrayal in the media of how they are targeted is treated as flippant and insignificant. Even the AP tried it by changing their tweet from “women” to “prostitutes” about this event.

Well, let’s be blunt. The reason Anita Hill wasn’t “taken seriously” by the all-male Senate Judiciary Committee was because members of both parties have sexually harassed people. They couldn’t bring themselves to condemn Thomas for things they knew their colleagues (and in some cases, they themselves) had done.

All these shithead Internet Tough Feminists, grey and otherwise, telling us how they’d never let themselves get in this situation.

Maybe it’s because we’re bored with rehashing European history when there are whole continents of fascinating stories.

All I could think of is the chapter in the Kitchen God’s Wife by Amy Tan (SPOILER ALERT) where the Grandfather (Father?) that can’t speak due to a stroke trolls the the greedy abusive husband of his grandaughter to tear his own house down by pretending he can’t quite remember where he hid the (non-existent) gold coins

Also, Roxane Gay, everybody
