I never mention to people that I don’t eat meat unless I’m forced to. I know the second I do, most of them try to “fix” me, or tell me how they feel bad for what I’m missing.  They see me as a challenge that no one before them has overcome, but this time will be different.

That’s the irony of it all. The smugness of vegans is dwarfed by the smugness of meat eaters (and that’s taking PETA and their shenanigans into account) yet the prevailing narrative is about insufferable vegans.

The only thing more obnoxious than vocal vegans are the people who complain about vegans saying their vegan (i.e. most of the comments and the oddly snarky-for-no-discernible-reason article above). If this was a stab at comedy then Jezebel writers are bad at comedic writing.

Well, it’s not “lies,” it’s just incomplete truths. Affirmative action IS a thing, and it DOES involve institutional preferences for POC. The problem isn’t that this isn’t true, it’s that there is complete ignorance of the disadvantages faced by POC that justify the affirmative action.
