It's good stuff and when done right easy to drink, but my impression has been that among hardcore and/or trendy beer nerds, IPAs are out. Sours and gose styles and barrel-aged stuff (none of which I enjoy, personally) seem to be the thing amongst those crowds, and a focus of regional microbrewers right now.
