Is there not any potential legal trouble with your home state for registering your vehicle (and paying sales tax & registration fees to that state) while keeping and operating the vehicle in another state?

I take my car to this guy, he even has his own garage with a lift and tools, give him some money, and sometime later he returns my car totally fixed. It’s pretty amazing.
I realize that these SAVs are built in South Carolina, so it’s not like they’re going to ship half completed cars to Europe to be completed by Alpina then shipped back to the US, but I am really surprised to hear they will be completely assembled at the Spartanburg factory. I was under the impression that Alpina used…
I have a 2017 Mazda6 manual and would love if it had adaptive cruise and lane keep assist. Confusingly, in 2017 you could get all that with manual on a Mazda3 hatchback but not on the Mazda6.
Speaking for myself and only myself, I’m definitely a fan of some of the modern comforts and conveniences of new cars. Heated/cooled seats, adjustable magride suspension, Android Auto/Apple Carplay, adaptive cruise, bimodal exhaust, etc. Sometimes I want to be engaged, to feel and hear the car. Sometimes I want the…
I think the demo for a manual overlaps with options checkers as well. One of the great points of my Chevy SS was that the manual version wasn’t gimped. It even did the self parking thing and steered while you worked the clutch and brakes. If the used market is the canary manufacturers will start pricing manuals above…
My frustration is that nearly all manufacturers missed the transition from “manuals are for cheap loser cars only” to “enthusiasts with disposable income want manuals in their enthusiast cars.”
I’m not sure you have to sell the Miata. I mean yeah, it’s not a bad thing to do, but if you say you can afford it and then still have money to buy a $1,000 Civic for no reason other than you might use it as a daily driver, you could just string along for two years just fine.
Holy fuck Mr. Gladiator-Guy. Who the hell thought $650 a month for a lease was a good deal? And how the hell are you still paying $452 a month with three years left on a five year old Miata.

Do you really think it’s the fires that began in the past 2-3 weeks causing people to flee the Bay Area and LA? Might it have more to do with the pandemic that has lasted 6 months or so and the much less business-friendly approach CA took compared to TX? Or perhaps the years-long increases in living costs that were…
I don’t suppose Defector will expand into other verticals...
If I were rich, I’d daily drive my family around in one of these. I don’t care for how it looks, but who can complain about a 620hp sedan?
I’d love to read more about this.
It’s weird that Jeep accidentally did BMW kidneys better than modern BMW.
i thought they were keeping the 3 series somewhat tame and only allowing the 4 series to looks dumb?
I was excited for 1/10th of a second before I realized: It probably won’t come here and if it does it almost certainly won’t get a manual gearbox.
Telluride rocks dude.
You are not only obnoxious, but you’re completely wrong. We like manuals because they’re fun. Not for status reasons. Don’t tell me why I enjoy something. Just because you’re wussing out don’t mean the rest of us will.
