The Green New Deal has 70 co-sponsors in the House. Here’s a whole bunch of Senators getting all on board, too (and just to be quick about it, all declared 2020 Democratic candidates have signed on board):

So we should effecitvely fire half of Congress because they are “junior members”, and never elect any new ones? Junior members become senior members, you know.
You may question her relevance now, but damned if she hasn’t gotten a lot of people talking about legislation to combat climate change, which is a large part…
direct subsidies paid to oil and gas and coal are around $20 billion annually. Far from a trillion, yes, but when you look at the cost the US spends to protect shipping routes and its foreign interests, it does start to add up.
Hey, since you have to have some trouble reading, I’ll quote the relevant portion of the post here:
Fire fighting service be damned.
Are you saying you don’t believe that will happen or that you don’t want it to happen?
right, socialism for corporations only!!
lol
The InsideEVs article I linked to later included the clarified statement from GM, which I also directly cite in this article. Barra made her claim, it made headlines, and then had to be clarified.
She literally lied. I don’t know how else to put this.
It turns out not only was that incredibly misleading and false
He was also pro-punching Nazis, pro-treating all Americans with respect and generally the kind of working class Catholic with whom we built the New Deal/Great Society majorities. America is a very different, very bad place had we not had him. Godspeed.
This is good stuff, thank you for the detail. What I find most interesting is that his environmental record is disastrous (from an environmentalist’s perspective) until the mid-90s, when he appeared to have a major change of heart.
An electric prius is severely overdue, and the intact (growing) sales of the Prius Prime in January shows this. It made roughly 1/6th of Toyota’s entire hybrid sales.
Unfortunately, the Prime is also a very good example of how incompatible Toyota’s direction to its TNGA platform is to meaningful electrification, having…
If we’re going to talk about Prius sales in today’s context, it must be put in the context of plug-in sales. You all know InsideEVs got all that sales ‘shtuff’ for that.
A half cut in sales for the Prius and Toyota’s HSD line is surprising, sudden, but not surprisingly unexpected. What’s surprising is how no one…
I think the Avalon exists only because the ES is such a big seller. I imagine the development costs are low, justifying its continued existence. And there are hardly and Priuses in stock right now, for what it’s worth. But yes, an electric car is long overdue.
Corolla Hatch is a Good Car
I wouldn’t say Tesla “can’t” build it. They have to maximize the number of units sold, and show a profitable series of quarters before they can afford to offer crazy sexy niche profile cars. The upcoming roadster/coupe will be a very different thing for them, and it’s not exactly boring - if not drop dead gorgeous.
Um, that’s a F-100...........
