    As far as I know, upfront the car is a 2.0l Atkinson attached to a CVT and beefy electric motor - a parallel system. The rear wheels are powered by a similarly sized motor that makes the car a series-parallel and though-the-road hybrid like PSA’s DS5 and 3008 Hybrid 4.

    I haven’t the slightest notion how they’re going…

    It’s weird that you guys aren’t getting the hybrid drivetrain like we do in Europe. Think it’s from the 09 - 15 Prius to save cost.

    Sure, just take an silencer or muffler off a Prius, maybe cut the exhaust a bit shorter and it’ll sound like that.

    Before you put holes into me or my idea, look up battery balancing. There’s a guy who’s been selling small chargers and dischargers that have brought life back to Toyota HV batteries to reanimating quite honestly worse worn and worse engineered Honda IMA…

    Batteries when cold tend to create internal resistance within the cells which just wastes them as heat. In the mornings, charging to 100% (or at least over 85%) is also recommended as the pack would be warmed up to operating temperature (~15C celcius).
