Maybe this is a bad take but... Mike Myers stopped right around the time I outgrew his brand of comedy. No offense to the guy but he doesn’t seem like a relevant movie star anymore. I have no interest in some kind of Mike Myers comeback. Like it’s cool that he wants to get paid and stuff but like.... I don’t need it.

What totally scares me too is that cases are so dramatically under-reported now that we have at home tests and people have just stopped giving a shit. It is such a false sense of security as the data we’re seeing probably doesn’t even represent 30% of those testing positive. Ugh.

The best part, for me, with regards to the feelings part is that these are the same folks who would bark at “snowflakes” for being too sensitive when people tell racist jokes or don’t take people’s feelings into consideration. But when it comes to how they feel, well, that’s not the same.. oi

I think you’d be surprised just how much of a cultural moment JK Rowling’s attack on transpeople was for younger people, at least in the UK (trans-rights in the last two-three years has basically become the major generation dividing issue in terms of social views in the UK now).

If you haven’t seen Death Comes to Town - track it down ASAP. It has some slow moments but overall is genius.

This is true, but stand-up comedy is unique in that it requires you to buy into the comedian’s personality and thought processes significantly more than with a musician or a painter. It’s much harder to separate the artist from the art when so much of the art is the artist.

If a CEO embezzles a shitload of money, they probably shouldn’t be a CEO again and people tend to be justifiably outraged when something like that happens.

They can answer it however they want. However, not wanting to give it to someone who sexually harassed women, including women who merely trying to do their job in the same field the award is in, is a perfectly valid response.
