That gave me a vision of our future drone arsenal.

The problem is, MAD kinda went out the window when Russia lost the Cold War.

Terrell the journalistic terror

Well said good Sir! I wish I could give you more than one star! I love this site, have for years...But ok am growing tired of every single freaking article including the words “The world is coming to an end because Trump...”

Good thing Russia doesnt rely on immobile ICBMs in silos then for a counter strike deterrent.

Terrell,
Can I just say thank you, and applaud you, for doing an entire Political/Military piece of writing, with heavy Russian detail, on FoxtrotAlpha, in 2017, without ever mentioning Trump once.
Thanks for that.

I’m sure you lost out on a bonus/comission/etc...but...it was very refreshing.

Well, I can imagine that if we have it (or will have it), the Russians will eventually have it too. So endgame only applies if we’re stupid enough to actually use it before they can. Sorry, I’m of the sound opinion that any nuclear attack is endgame for everyone. No way in hell there a winner in a nuclear conflict.

Putin is bracing for conflict because NATO keeps moving military assets closer and closer to the Russian border.

What do you mean by resetting? Resetting like threatening two of their important ports in Sevastopol and in Tartus? Like threatening Russian clients? Like putting missiles into Romania? Yeah, the US was trying hard to get closer to Russia.

Russia and NATO is a very chicken-or-the-egg thing IMO. If the stated desire of the US going back to W. Bush hadn’t been explicitly a drive towards incorporating Georgia and Ukraine into NATO, Russia perhaps would not be as serious in asserting itself with these simmering border conflicts that de facto prevent

That is silly, not even accounting for the double standard in USA actions vs the rest of the world, American makes deals with Iran and is best friends with Israel which laughs at UNs resolutions. So what “disdain for international norms” are you even talking about?

America invaded multiple countries while Putin has been in office, and menaced even more. The US is guilty of far more international meddling in the last few years than Russia.

Why is it that provoking Putin is good, but “provoking” China is bad? China has clearly it’s own issues with provocation and would annex taiwan if it could, which in about 10 years it may be able to.

edit: not saying we provoked Putin, but being “tough” with him definitely seems to be the popular stance. I don’t see
