Are you joking ? Everybody in the US would freak out if that was the case. And nobody would believe the side-story about stopping the brazilians. It looks like the Cols War never ended in the first place.
It was Israel shooting at Hamas quadcopters in 2014.
It’s not about having the strongest military. Is about constantly pushing the russians. If Russia had military bases, nukes and missile shields in Cuba I think the USA would be “pissy” too. All it takes is for Russia to move some Topol-M to Cuba and everybody would just freak out. But it’s all cool if american nukes…
If you look at the situation from the other side I think that Russia is uncomfortable with all the NATO bases all around their country and anti-missile shields in South Korea and Europe. On top of that the United States has refused to adopt a no-first-use policy, saying that it “reserves the right to use” nuclear…
The russians have mobile ICBMs (TOPOL-M) that can take evasive action and pump out decoys on the way to its target. It has maneuvering mid-course capability, and maneuvering independently targeted reentry vehicles .
I miss the times when Foxtrot Alpha was more about jet fighters and military equipment and less about politics. What’s next, cookie recipes ?
Offtopic:
The numbers include combat losses and aerial collisions, however Eurofighters and F-22's have rarely seen combat if any, and I think no aerial collisions were recorded on either of these planes. The F-22 first saw combat in 2014 in Syria.
Ok but look at the numbers for the Eurofighter.
The numbers are from aviation-safety.net. If a Cessna crashes in Nepal sure enough you will find it there, and it’s quite hard to hide the fact that a Su-27 crashed. They usually go out in a large fireball.
This is the 11th F/A-18/CF-18 that crashed this year, with 247 crashes in total out of 1480 aircraft made (so about 16,6%). As a comparison only 62 SU-27/33/35 have crashed out of 809 made (so about 7%).
