I thought NJ also, but in NJ, cars only land on their roof on roadways and not on houses.
$100 says the dead dude was the only person in the car not wearing a seatbelt. Or the hardest impact was on the passenger side and the rear passenger was sitting behind the driver.
Part of the issue with cheap cars is that they need to be self-maintained to remain cheap. Many of us have the knowledge sets and skills required to perform mechanical repairs but much fewer have the skills to work on EVs. If the project requires the expertise of a legit mechanic, there are few who know how to work…
Subaru is no surprise given the high cost for replacement costs (compared to their non-luxury counterparts) due to their relatively low volume of production. When I sold my 2008 Legacy Spec.B and replaced it with a 2014 Lexus IS350, I was surprised a door shell for the Lexus was 30% less than the door I bought for the…
I’m on the market for a second EV in my home and am considering a CPO Taycan so I have been scouring listings as of late. Most of the cars I see in the $60K range are a year newer and have an “S” next to the 4. It helps that this is a longroof version which is a bit rarer and adds a few dollars to the value but most…
Yeah, its crazy how things go down. I think they believe a fine will be enough to force compliance but a $10K fine for a parking lot that brings in that much gross income in half a day or 5/6 figure fines for a company as large as Tesla are pennies.
My guess is that the food workers in most airports are also very poorly paid (and managed) because they seem to be significantly worse at their jobs than their non-airport equivalents. The same can be said for rest stop restaurants - there is nothing like waiting 20-30 minutes for a cold, poorly-prepared version of a…
Slightly off-topic but as someone who had a Diablo model and poster on their wall since the early nineties, silver has to be the worst color for this car.
At the end of the day it is on California to follow through with its violations and penalties. You can assess as many penalties as you want but if they are not enforced and followed up with more severe punishments, nothing will happen.
And one of the worst advertisements of all time featuring a bunch of people doing their best crazy Tilda Swinton character impression:
Most of the accounts I read are from people who purchased EVs from other mainstream automakers, not other startups like Tesla. Most, if not all are much happier with their Hyundais, Kias, BMWs, and whatnot compared to their former model 3 and y EVs.
Yeah, I really butchered that sentence, no pun intended.
Unfortunately, we are going to see a shitstorm over the next for a variety of reasons, least of not which the poorly concepted tariffs that will cause consumer prices and the cost of raw materials to skyrocket, a mass deportation that will leave a huge gap in the workforce that no lazy-ass Americans are willing to…
That is the official mantra of all hedge funds and pretty much every Billionaire and Fortune 500 CEO currently alive.
I haven’t renewed my membership since I got $2K off an Audi a few years ago but that is certainly worth checking out. thanks!
Meanwhile, the Tesla subreddit is being dominated by people trying to ditch their Teslas and how most of them are underwater because values are tanking (Teslas are depreciating faster than Masers) and for some crazy reason they decided to buy (and not lease) an EV. They are also asking for recommendations and the most…
Yeah, I’m sure there are plenty of tract housing developments and spec mcmansions that are built with tiny garages that could barely fit a midsize SUV.
So this is essentially GMC’s version of the Hummer EV? Another major issue with these huge trucks is they don’t fit in garages of houses that were built more than 25 years ago. One of my neighbor has a Hummer EV and has to park it outside since it is significantly smaller than their garage door opening.
I have used them in the US, Central America, and Europe and they never disappoint. They are owned by BMW so you usually get a nice Bimmer. I can usually rent a 3-series or x3/4 with Sixt for about the same cost as a midsize sedan from Avis.
