You could have purchased something less expensive and desirable to wait out the bad buyer’s market. That’s what I did and now I have an iX for about the same monthly price as a Highlander Hybrid.

If I was in a position during that timeframe where I NEEDED a new car and could not afford the upcharge on the car I wanted, I would have bought a less expensive car. Or a pre-owned car. There is no reason to force yourself into a bad financial situation because you WANT a specific car.

Have you driven a Tonale yet?  It is barely good enough to compete with a CX5 let alone luxury/premium subcompact SUVs and they are going for more than $50K.  You just can’t make a good sport luxury car from an economy car platform.

My worst roadrage story was a bit odd and I wasn’t even driving. My wife and I were in an uber with another couple and the driver came somewhat close to a pedestrian and his son in a crosswalk right near our destination. The pedestrian hit the car with his hand in anger and started shouting.

I am scratching my head about how two damaged tires will result in $2K in damage unless the wheels and alignment were damaged as well. Even if it was an AWD car and all four tires had to be replaced at the same time, I can’t imagine a set of tires for that car costs much more than $1K.
